@LandonBailey Can full sizes P90 pick-up fix into this Guitar??
Landon, your style is hilarious and is growing on me!
Thanks again for the great content.
6:11....................LOL (so neat and tidy looking)
What is the scale length on this?
@@stepvanjoe3469 Gibson, 24-3/4"
These are definitely real p90s, the magnets are underneath the brass.
You have some bright subscribers, because over 100 comments in and not one ignorantly misspelled "Squier" yet! A true testament to the viewers you attract!
Thank you for being the only review that demonstrates the push pulls

@@landonbailey😂😂
I think he also does a good job with the “ins and outs”😊
Outstanding take on this Squier. Exactly how I imagined this happened. Don't forget to burp the little fella after playing. The Epiphone bridge is an awesome dig, and proof that Gibson and Fender had a Squier
I picked up the red model from L&M online as well. Arrived last week, and I’ve been playing it steady since. Love the various sounds, and the neck is a joy to play. I really love this guitar a lot.
Good choice!
I could see where that intro was heading from a mile, but I still giggled 😂 Nice one! Still blown away from the Epi bridge on a Squier guitar tho 😮
I had no idea it had in-series and out of phase! The out of phase tone on p90s is a killer sound! 😍 what an awesome buy!
The out-of-phase series option is very interesting. Very few guitars have that option from the factory.
I bought one of these yesterday. Or I traded an Epiphone SG Classic in for one. The SG had a D shaped neck I couldn't get used to and I've been looking for another P90 guitar to replace it and when I saw this I knew I had to try it. When I got to Guitar Center and plugged it in I fell in love. Classic P90 tones with a Gibson scale and radius but a comfortable C shaped Fender neck. It's everything I could ask for.
have fun!
Definitely my favourite of the new batch of Paranormals. I too have a Gibson Les Paul Special like yours and am interested to hear them side by side but I would consider buying the Squier just for the series/parallel and phase options.
Do you even know anything about Squier? Moron.
Yeah; Kingstumble - good point!, this is a fairly impressive brainchild of whatever creati e juices are flowing over at the Corona, Creative Dept. -Some people we iI'll already know that Fender pulled a zpublic Stock offering due to Covid-19 caused .market shocks; w/ this excelent show of market health, BUY FENDER STOCK! Both kinds! Nice coverage, "young feller'! (RED GREEN@(
A Squier DC P90 LP Special. What’s not to like? The Epiphone bridge totally blows my mind. I mean, Rudyard Kipling was actually talking about this when he famously said “Never the twain shall meet”. If ANYONE knows guitars, it has to be Runyard Kipling.
Yeah, that is a killer looking Squier.
I didn't think that only Epiphone made these simple wraparound bridges...I can't wait to see Squier or Fender parts factory-installed on Epiphones 🙂🙂
All jokes aside, they're all made in China so it makes sense that they would share some parts...
Great video...
🎸👍
My Gibson special fast became my number one. That stratosonic is the first Squier OR paranormal that I have ever taken seriously. Can't wait for the pickup comparison!
Centralia. Sick burn, very subtle only a former Pennsylvanian would grab that.
Wow. The push/pull stuff actually made four completely different tones.
I think I know what I want to do with the old Squier ST-331 now.
Nice! I just picked up the Paranormal Jazzmaster XII yesterday. Really easy to play. I did notice the weak jack on this one, too. Not a huge deal though.
@dodgechargerfan You're right about the Jazzmaster XII. I tried one out. Super comfy to play.
The psychedelic (to me) section at around :55 is super well done!
I love the versatility of sounds with the push pull pots. Really good looking but I'd probably prefer the red one.
Okay. Now go cheat on your wife
Just picked up a limited edition in blue direct from fender. It is a beautiful guitar and I am blown away by the tone and how well it plays.
Sweet! I would have bought the blue
@@landonbailey it was on sale for 40%off also. A steal imo
I got one as soon as they released and they're a blast! It's insanely light like 7 lbs. The phasing/parallel switching is amazing! Probably gonna upgrade pickups and tuners but that's it. They're riff machines man! And yeah they really have epiphone bridges at least for now.
Fun!
One of the reviews I've watched on this guitar complained about a lot of noise through the pickups, but I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else. Maybe he just got a bad one, is yours pretty quiet, in terms of hum/brackground noise?
@weshatchett9486 no that is my only complaint. They're not noisy in terms of output but if you face your amp you'll def get feedback. And squeaks and slides on the neck are louder than they should be. But I bought it with the intentions of putting a set of lollars in it anyway as the ones it comes with are only big single coils made to look like p90s. But other than that it's a great lil guitar. Perfect mod foundation for someone wanting Gibson feel at fender weights
Man, as soon as you switched to Series, I was hooked...that sounded so damned sweet...
That intro!!! No one does it better.
What an awesome looking guitar. And I agree, I don't typically like Laurel that much, but that one looks incredible!
Anything looks better than
Pau Ferro / dog turd brown.
This is cool and all...
but I've had a Fender JA-90 Jim Adkins Tele for 12 years now, and for me, it's the BEST Gibson/Fender hybrid I've ever played... A Thinline set neck Tele LP special that ACTUALLY stays in tune... The neck is also super fast and comfortable... Thinline Ash body, maple neck make it very light...
I did a giveaway for that model. nice guitar!
I love Strats and Les Pauls, I think I need this one!
it's fun!
The whole new line looks great.
I agree, this guitar looks amazing! You can’t even tell the fingerboard is Laurel. It through me off at first till you mentioned it. I’ll still take Laurel over Pau Ferro anyday. It looks nicer.
it's darker than some of my Rosewood fretboards
@@landonbailey it came like this or did you oil/condition it? It looks awesome either way.
Oh man!
I gotta get me one of these ASAP!!
Love it!
it's fun!
Nice transition of the guitars in the intro :) 💪🏾🤙🏾
I have a Strat that has been routed for soap bar P-90's It has great tones and is very comfortable to play. Mine still has the Standard Strat trem bridge.
Just picked up a Paranormal Nashville Strat and LOVE it!!!
I had to sub after that intro!! Fantastically done Sir!
Thank you kindly
That may well be the first Strat that I might actually like! It doesn't have the trem that I hate, nor the middle pickup right where my hand naturally wants to pick, or the annoying volume knob right below the bridge pickup, or the ice pick to the ears bridge pickup. I wanna try one of these out sometime!
Oh, almost forgot, they also did away with the 5 way blade at the perfect angle to knock out of position when you start in with some over zealous strumming, haha.
👍🎸
Some clever people designing Squier guitars these days, giving us pretty well every possible combination of parts and shapes we can imagine. The Custom Nashville Strat caught my eye, even though it's merely a Nashville Tele with a Strat body. Thanks.
Looks really nice, sounds good, love the pixie’s riff too😎
I have a Fender FSR telecaster with dimarzio super distortion humbuckers. It's a Fender Gibson love child too! I love that Guitar!!
Oddly still sounds like a strat... Love the look.
Weird's totally good 😅 Paranormal ... right up my alley. Gorgeous guitars!
Thanks, this is the first video I've seen that goes beyond just looking at it/hearing this new Strat-O-Sonic. I'm always interested to see see the guts of these Paranormals to help judge how they sit against other models. Looks good.
I have a Telesonic with the chambered mahogany body and DeArmond single coils.
They were obviously going for a Les Paul Special vibe but it still holds its own.
Thanks man!! :)
No problem!
9 months hell, my guitars reproduce so fast the mailman can't keep up 😅
So thats why I have so many of these Damm things !
GREAT REVIEW, STUNNING INTRO!
Would love to see the Paranormal Nashville!!! Amazing video as always! The intro had me laughing awkwardly!!! Good stuff!!!
Such a cool guitar
it's fun!
Great video. Thanks for helping me get through my day
Glad to help
Wow a 22 fret Squier? Nice!
I like the style, weight and sound but not the yellow, which is too bright for me - would of been better in a more mustard yellow for me. Good value though. Red isn't for me either. If it came in a natural finish with the black guard and headstock I'd be very interested. Squier have upped their game here I think.
great review... but was really hoping to get the neck depth measurements (always a factor before I buy)
Thanks for the video! Great overview and explanation. I was wondering if those pickups were truly P90s. I’m really interested in that future comparison with the Gibson.
stay tuned! in editing.
The direction you took in demonstrating that guitar, IMO, was very 60's esque...it was like listening to something by The Animals...
Love it. Personally I want to build myselfa strat with 2 p-90s and a Vega-Trem. Possibly a strat pickup in the middle too.
Another great review! Thanks man.
Glad you liked it!
I have an early 2000's Fender :strat o sonic Dove One "(the one with a single P90) and it is very much like a Gibson... but that's ok... I'm a Gibson fan and this is my one and only Fender.
One thing... the original Strat Os... don't have coil tapping pots.. but I wish they did. They do however have an unusual type pot with a... well, a "thing" on them to improve grip (I guess.. not that it's ever been an issue on any guitar I've ever had before)
i really love the quirky fender models
Nice overview. I wasn't aware of the push-pull pots, definitely adds more tone options. Interesting (and funny) that the bridge is an Epiphone. I might have missed it, but did you mention that the scale length is 24.75? Overall a really nice guitar at a good price.
yes 24.75
I am so tempted to get one.
Great angle.
I want to put a Contemporary Series neck on it: big headstock still painted black, super smooth satin finish, thick profile. I know that’s subjective, but the neck on these is my biggest disappointment (basically a Classic Vibe neck, some love it). Contemporary series just has the best necks from Squier
This guitar is Gibson scale length, not Fender. Not sure if the neck you'd like to put on it will work due to the different scale length.
It’s a Les Strat Special in TV Yellow! And I like it!
Looks and sounds real nice. I always forget how great Laurel wood can look on a fretboard. It's nice and dark like rosewood. Fender seems to be using that light milk chocolate looking Pau Ferro on a lot of their mid and lower tier stuff for some reason, it's functionally OK but I wish they would use more laurel when they decide they can't use rosewood. Squier takes the lead here.
If you are keeping that guitar and don't mind modifying, there's an easy way to strip the gloss of the back of the neck, it's only slightly messy and doesn't involve sanding. You just need water and 3M scotch brite scouring pads and in a matter of minutes you can have it playing like a nice satin finished neck.
Well I have a Special (Epi-which would parallel Squier), and so this isn’t as tempting to me as the 12 string Jazzmaster, but depending on how much I’d like the series/parallel and phase options
As well as whether i could work with master volume and tone, as I like one for each pickup to set the tone, etc. So that could be a strike against the Squier.
I'm kind of disappointed you didn't take off the pickguard so we could see what's underneath it. 😉 Those pickups sounds great! Be nice if they did a Telesonic next year with those pickups and bridge instead of the Carbronita.🤘
Squier making some good stuff. I recently made a partscaster out of one of their Contemporary RH Tele's and the roasted maple neck on that thing is as good a neck as I've ever played.
Oh great, just when I thought I had all the guitars I needed, GAS strikes again!
I picked-up the Baritone Paranormal Tele and it is pretty sweet. It also has thoseP-90’s and they sound great.
So THAT'S where baby guitars come from!
From Landon's closet😅
I was thinking about buy a Stratocaster at the end of the year, I was almost convinced but WTF, this looks and sounds great...
Something to think about it.
Interesting that there's space to put 2 more pots!
Awesome demo! I just found out about this ax and was thinking of getting one. I like the Parallel Universe series and Paranormal.
Cool video! Looking forward to seeing your video where you compare those pickups to LP P90s. Also, I’d like to see you do a video on the Paranormal Custom Nashville Strat. Those are the 2 guitars in this series that I’m looking forward to checking out.
It looks a lot like the Les Paul double cutaway Johnny Thunders used to play.
I’m a lefty. I made one a year ago with a PRS neck. mines black and white and has a whammy bar. Mine has a maple body.
Just discovered your channel. I grew up in the Centralia, Pennsylvania area, not far from it in a little shit hole of a town named Mahanoy City. I've gone through Centralia many times. I remember seeing holes in the ground were you could actually see the fire underground. You could smell the sulfur in the air. BTW I was thinking about getting this guitar. Have to think it over. Too bad it doesn't have a tune o matic bridge. Thanks for the review. Take off! Eh.
oh wow! Looks like a creepy place
@@landonbailey I meant to say NOT far from it. Yes most of the residents took the money the state offered them to move. Last time I saw it, there was maybe 4-5 houses left with residents. The road leading to Centralia is called Graffiti Highway. It's closed and covered with.... graffiti.
Who was on top? I got the strat noventa and put a pro ii neck on it. Also got a SG standard and threw a les trem system on it. Swear the sg and strat switched souls
Love them both
Oooh I love the ending…..and not because of it’s the end of the video and I’ve seen enough :D Great video by the way. Squier should pay you a comission….this is the 3rd Squier I’m gonna buy because of you :D I usually use this line with my wife as well…..I’m buying this one bacause of Landon….she loooooves you :D
Very cool indeed
Thanks for the shout out to Centralia, haha, thanks for the review too.
I'd love to see you play the 12-string Jazzmaster, the Esquire with the hambucker and the short scale Bass with the humbuckers!
Believe it or not, i'm not home! Thats a very nice guitar. Landon, you're a very nice man.
Great video, mate!
And props to the Squier girl or guy who deecided to use a tried and true epiphone piece instead of reinventing the wheel
That is one one the first st type squiers im into. Normally im comfy on lp sg teles but not so much on syrats
🎸👍
Guitar Story! A blockbuster coming this summer to a theater near you:-) That was a good video I'm going to subscribe and like:-) maybe even tell my friends about it
Liked and subscribed, it doesn't sound like a strat in any pickup setting, but I think I need one. The short scale appeals to me. It doesnt sound like my SG or Tele either. Great video, thank you, and you are wierd enough for me to watch.
just ordered stratosonic in blonde sweetwater $429.99 US
Nice! Have fun
The squier jacks are flimsy, for sure. I had issues with my CV 50s tele and swapped it out. This guitar has my interest! Love the out of phase tones. Screams "Blues/Fusion Machine!"
I put "P-Rails" on my Gibson LP & SG & Peavey T-60 and put P-90s on my Fender Strat & Tele with optional Hot Rail Center Pickups added on the Strat that had the Three Pup Pickguard !!! Play On FretBro . . . 👍😎🎸🤘🙂🇺🇸🙏 DDH 6-22-2023.
"I Can't Believe It's Not Rosewood!" (TM)
Yeah, I have some really nice dark laurel necks, and some lighter rosewoods that are still appealing -- depends where they're sourced and then selected from stock in the factory.
I am very glad that this a 24.75" neck, might grab one for it.
Aaaah come on! Stratosonic is the name of a classic Brazilian guitar of the 80's made by Giannini
🤣🤣🤣 this is my kind of love child.
I built this out of a thin line tele. And was like, MAN I wish it were a Strat. This is my exact wish. I see a purchase in my near future. 🤙🏻🤘🏻
Ever seen the Fender TC90 or JA90?
@@ChrsGuit I’ve seen the “Jim Atkins” which is essentially what I built. I’ve not seen the TC until now. I like it and probably would’ve gone for a build closer to that, but I think I like the “No F hole” version.
🤔 options… thanks man 🤙🏻
@@robraaiii I've got the JA-90 myself... it's a killer guitar... and the thinline ash body makes it so light... it's super balanced... The custom Duncan P-90's are awesome as well... The custom 3 bridge just screams, but it has plenty of high end content most p-90's don't usually have... and the set neck with jumbo frets is really fast and smooth feeling... The heel let's you get all the way up the neck super easy
OK, so mine has the Epiphone part too… I believe mine was one of the first to ship within the UK as it was a preorder. Are we any closer to knowing how many had this ‘mistake’ part?
Yup! Definitely, the Carvin come back.... nothing wrong with that, at all, Carvin was the 2ndary choice most guitarist chose for shredding at an extremely low price back in the turn of the century.....with 24 frets like Ibanez...yes I miss Carvin Music Co from Escondido, CA...very much!👍
I wanna get my hands on a sherwood green rascal bass 💚💚💚💚😍😍
Crap! This is a really cool guitar. I think I’m going to have to pull the trigger on this! Literally not one thing I dislike about this guitar! Your review made me want it more!
They make a blue model now too!
Did it come out of the input jack? Did it have strings when it came out, or did they grow later? Which instrument did it come out of, the Fender or Gibson? Will its tone drop an octave or two in 15 years?
Nice review.
When the volume is pulled do you have sound when you’re on the bridge pickup only ? On mine I don’t. It’s fun because I can do the kill switch thing but it’s not very handy.
Sounds familiar but I don’t recall for sure
My Daddy was a Gibson
My Mama was a Fender
That's why they call me Mindbender
My my 17-year-old son is picking up guitar play game and I just picked up the red version of this guitar for him
I figured the gestation period for a guitar would be shorter, but I guess it takes a while for the electronics to develop inside the mama guitar's womb.
