I upgraded my aging Tab S2 recently for a Tab S5e... it seemed like the better option in comparison to S6 Lite, and it's potentially a better deal in comparison to the A7 too, though more expensive - how much it depends on deals you can find. I wouldn't know the price in the US though... it cost around the same as my recent upgrade from OnePlus 3 smartphone to S10e, which was an incredible deal for me personally as the phone has everything I wanted at a reasonable price. Probably around the 250-350 bucks price? If I do the currency conversion and add the necessary extraneous importation taxes, that's around what it comes to. The S10e keeps lots of the flagship features, so it's really worth looking into past models instead of spending in a current low end model like the A line. If you can get used, even better... probably could get them even cheaper - but I got mine new. Emerging market, here in Brazil these older models are still sold brand new on retail stores and whatnot. Tab S5e and S10e both have: fingerprint scanner (side mounted, on the power button), support for DeX and mirroring, the S10e has incredible specs, and the speakers are pretty awesome for the price category. The S10e has that sort of stereo system that combines a bottom firing speaker plus the headpiece... it's not as great as dual front facing firing speakers, but like, the next best thing. The Tab5e has 4 speakers tuned by AKG.... it's day and night in comparison to my Tab S2. I think I can dismiss using Bluetooth speakers from now on. The SoC on the Tab S5e (Snapdragon 670) is better than the one in the A7 (Snapdragon 662), but it's a bit weaker than the S6 Lite (Exynos 9610)... but the S6 Lite doesn't have a fingerprint scanner, is heavier, has worse cameras, less internal storage and doesn't have DeX for some reason. It does have the S-pen though, and generally cheaper, it's kind of a mixed bag depending on what you wanna use the tablet for. Good to note, these models I listed are actually the mid ranger versions of past models. The A line is the low range, thus being cheaper on launch. But due to how generous Samsung was on these mid rangers, and how price tends to drop sometimes quite dramatically, it's really worth trying to find deals there. When the S10e and the Tab S5e launched, they were priced more like 400-650 bucks. o/

I think the tabs s5e is a better option. You can get it at around 300 usd new on ebay. SD 670. Superamoled screen with 1440p resolution. Akg quad speakers. With Samsung Dex. With the recent one UI 2.5 update. You get all the the new features including wireless Dex and other tab s features.
What features? Not the vast vast vast majority of them... Chrome OS vs Android is not a fair fight, for general usage, Android mops the floor with Chrome OS. Android can just do so much more objectively speaking.
I got one of these for Christmas this year & while it's quite nice for the price, I gotta say that the screen is a bit disappointing. It doesn't get very bright at all and the viewing angles are not very good for an IPS display. You lose brightness and clarity just from being somewhat off center, and an IPS display should most definitely have better viewing angles than that. To be honest, I have my doubts that it's even an IPS display because it really doesn't look like one to be honest.
Thinking of getting the Lenovo Duet Chromebook - mainly for reading (ebooks, PDFs and Comixology); and maybe some drawing. Would you recommend the A7 over the Duet?
Phones are getting so big, that I believe 7 inch tablets soon won't be a thing anymore. And tablet manufacturers are focusing on "professional" models that are 12 inch, so now the 10 inch models are targeted at media consumption instead of the 7 inch models.
Sorry, couldn't tell if this Tab review mentioned whether it has Knox Security. It probably does, which means the Galaxy Store is Critically important for Knox Security Compliance of apps. Google's Play Store pretty much doesn't have any secure apps on it. Vy the way, there isn't a single Secure Linux Distro available. Though Linux CAN be made secure, it takes a seriously good Coder to personally Modify a Distro, to make it Secure, and you only have to connect something that isn't Secure to your device, to blow All attempts at Security out of the Window. For example, I always used to use Google's Gboard touchscreen keyboard, went to install it on my Note 9, and the phone warned me it was vulnerable to keylogging attacks, etc, and asked if I wanted to proceed with the installation. Nope. The Gmail app isn't secure either, so I've deGoogled my devices. Samsung customers also get a great app free called Secure WiFi that's worth checking out how to use properly, to guard against RF sniffers while doing online Banking or Online Purchases. All the best. Bob. 👍🏴
The display is TFT. and NOT IPS. That's perhaps the only drawback in the tablet. (Besides the 3gb ram, which in future may be inapt for many apps and sites. Bit works fine for now for the price. )
Nice. Just got one of these to replace an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" 3/32gb model. With failing battery and SD card/gets warm on top right side. Only downside is no camera flash. Same as my old S2. So not taking pictures in low light/night. Just wondering what case/cover poeple would recommend for this tab?
I could never understand why the popular Tab A had the stereo speakers on the side (when viewing films or videos in landscape mode). Finally, we have speakers on the left & right. But I'm confused. The specs say that this doesn't have a headphone jack, but you say it does?
@@angelamunson7236 Thank you ! It doesn't mention the jack &, when I phoned Samsung, the tech dept told me it didn't & I'd have to use an adaptor & plug it in the usb-c socket ! I've since found out that this is a lie. Thank you ! I'm buying one too !

Damn! I'm early! Commenting before viewing, while I know the review will be great, I'll congratulate later!!
android setting>developer option>turn on "display screen updates"
I've been looking everywhere online to see whether this tablet does picture-in-picture, so thank you for that! Can you confirm whether it does it whilst another app is open and does this tablet also support having multiple windows? Thanks again!
Yes, the Samsung Tab A7 can support opening multiple windows! The most I have used personally is 3-4 different windows.
ordered this last night and get to pick it up today, pretty excited! Ill be using it as my mobile gaming device (TES Morrowind pretty much) and as a computer to use with my Segway Ninebot Max electric scooter for firmware updates and hacks
would love to know more about that iPega controller...
How’s it holding up!? It’s on sale and thinking of getting it
@@manuelgarcia739 love it still, definitely worth it
@@controllerspixelsplayers9202 awesome ! Thanks for the reply , have you tried emulation with it ? Was wanting a budget tablet to do GBa and N64. Maybe even PSP. I have an S7 but that’s for GameCube only lol
Great video! helped me decide for my tablet for school.
Where I live in Costco this tablet with 64gbs + a 64gb SD card is going for 200. So is basically a steal if you ask me
I liked an subscribed just because you showed how minecraft works in that fire tab
It's a bit out of left field, but I wonder how this tablet compares with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. The price is similar and features overlap.
What features? Not the vast vast vast majority of them... Chrome OS vs Android is not a fair fight, for general usage, Android mops the floor with Chrome OS. Android can just do so much more objectively speaking.
Maybe I've missed it, but does it have Dex? I don think so, but I asked anyway haha
How come you never try out star wars on psp on mobile device's?
I got one of these for Christmas this year & while it's quite nice for the price, I gotta say that the screen is a bit disappointing. It doesn't get very bright at all and the viewing angles are not very good for an IPS display. You lose brightness and clarity just from being somewhat off center, and an IPS display should most definitely have better viewing angles than that. To be honest, I have my doubts that it's even an IPS display because it really doesn't look like one to be honest.
Not an IPS screen. Samsung website states the screen is TFT
Thank you ata prime for testing this Galaxy tablet I'm thinking of buying this tablet performance is better than my fire 10 tablet
Thinking of getting the Lenovo Duet Chromebook - mainly for reading (ebooks, PDFs and Comixology); and maybe some drawing.
Would you recommend the A7 over the Duet?
Chromebooks are great but if you're mainly reading ebooks and such like then I'd get this tablet over the Duet.
But one of his favorite things, but one of his favorite things is the sound... 😉😂
Thank you! Really helps me 👍
Which is the better choice the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 10.4 or Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4
I always thought the guy sitting on the bed in the intro was zavala from destiny 2.
Nice budget tablet! It's the best for its price!
7in or 8in is perfect size for portable gaming. get a phablet with sd865 used for $300
When its name was first leaked, i genuinely thought that samsung was putting out a 7 inch tablet with a midrange snapdragon chipset...
I really wish they would. 7 or 8 inch I think is much better for retro gaming.
Bob. 👍🏴
How about playing Genshin Impact?
Get a tab s6 please
better off getting a tab s7 or iPad for future use
Do you think the Sony Xperia play would be an ok emulation device? What would the max system be for it? Thank you again love the videos!
If you're buying the 3/32 variant, available space is going to be lower than 20GB.
The display is TFT. and NOT IPS.
That's perhaps the only drawback in the tablet.
(Besides the 3gb ram, which in future may be inapt for many apps and sites. Bit works fine for now for the price. )
Hey! Did you know that this Tablet is actually so big in diagonal like the Windowed youtube Player on a 15,6" Laptop (after you hit F11).
Just checked, Galaxy Tab A7 has Knox Multilayered Security. 👍
I purchased this tablet yesterday and it does have a headphone jack:)
How does this compare to the Samsung Tab A 10.1 - 3gb ram variant? This new tablet is only $20 dollars more than what i payed for the Tab A 10.1
Great video. Can you please try War Robots Multiplayer battles (by pixonic) for me on the Samsung A7. I own the A6 and the game has become so laggy since they've introduced the remastered version I can't play anymore. it's no fun at all. Also the 60fps option ingame says "coming soon" but other people have the option already. So I'd like to know if you have the 60fps option or not & how well the game plays before I consider upgrading from A6 to A7. Thanks
The 32GB storage and 3GB RAM will limit this gadget capability, even an entry level smartphone today come with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM.
It has expandable storage so no problems. 3gb ram isn't bad either
