Just a heads up, the Switch emulator Skyline, has got the green light from Google and will be available soon in the Playstore. No ETA yet when it will be deployed.
It might actually be really good if both use cases apply. Finding a good portable monitor with oled screen and decent battery life is almost impossible, and it would be too costly just for what it is.
Settings in Grid Autosport can be changed really easily by tweaking the "preferences" file located in Android's data folder. You can literally max out everything with a few excpetions.
Bought this tablet to run android emulators because I prefer them over their windows version. It runs amazing and makes a nice trio with my 11 iPad Pro and iPhone 13 😅
Great video. I would like for you to test a couple games that I can compare to my Xiaomi mi pad 5 pro if you have the time. 1. Mario Kart Wii (Dolphin)- I can only do 720p with no lag 2. Conduit 2 (Dolphin)-One of the more graphics heavy Wii games. How high can it go on the Gen 1 with playable performance 3. Sly Cooper (Aethersx2)- I can't really upscale this game. See how high you can go with this with playable frame rate 4. God of war 2 (AetherSx2)- one of the more demanding PS2 games. Can the Gen 1 upscale it?
I just want to point out to people that dont know, since the tablet doesnt have a 4k screen, there is no point whatsoever in running 4k unless you are using the dex mode on a 4k monitor because you arent utilizing the 4k capabilities and instead causing your tablet to work harder than it needs to. Keeping it on a lower resolution will actually cause the tablet to display a better picture because its been optimized to run at that aspect ratio. But also another thing i want to point out as well. In this video he points out that the tablet has 16 gb of ram. But if you go into the tablets settings you can have it use an additional 8gb of virtual ram as well allowing this monster to have a maximum of 24 gb of memory if you went with the 16gb model. This amount of ram is preposterous even on a desktop PC but on a tablet that is going to be handling heavy workloads like gaming or video editing its a must have feature. My biggest gripe about the s8 ultra is how thin it is. A thinner tablet means that the cooling system isnt the greatest so most likely expect the back panel of the tablet to get heated up during game sessions and possible frame drops if gaming for too long. But something i will say is that i love that you can still use an SD card. If you are using this tablet for gaming it would be wise to use the SanDisk EXTREME 1TB just because of how fast the card is. A faster card enables your device to run whatever is stored on there more efficiently. When you combine this with the insane amount of ram and the new snapdragon chip, you shouldn't be seeing any issues at all with the toughest workloads other than the potential of a overheated system.
Not entirely true. There's always benefits to running at a higher resolution. The display is above what is considered 3K and is close enough to 4K that there are benefits there. A 4K YT looks noticeably better than a 2K one on this tablet. The same goes for games as well.
Didn't know if you know about this tablet which I got as well with the 512gb and 16gb ram, from what I heard samsung purposely underclocked the cpu 8 gen1 because of the thin of the tablet and wanting to keep it cool, hopefully samsung comes out with the an update to give the option to push it a little harder by our choice, amazing review by the way
This is definitely one of those devices where the hardware is absolute overkill for the software available for it. I agree with you the Tab S8 Plus is probably better for most people, the only people I see trully benefiting from this particular model are artists or people that will replace their laptop with this.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of the more affordable 11.x screen Tab S8 and some 3 - 5 year old tablet! I suspect it won't be very interesting. Performance gonna be the same across the board until you max out the ram, which is probably only possible on dex mode.

I would like to see if you can run N64 games using the Parallel Vulkan backend. In several of your videos you show N64 emulation, but you don't say what backend you're using. I've never been able to get Parallel to work on my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, and I suspect it's because Vulkan is limited to version 1.1. The spec sheet on Qualcomm's website for the SnapDragon 8 Gen 1 STILL says that 1.1 is the highest supported version, making me believe that the Parallel Vulkan renderer still won't work on next-gen devices (unless you show it working and prove me wrong). Several years have gone by, and Vulkan on PC is now up to version 1.3. For this reason I've held off on buying a new Android device and have been considering a Surface Pro 8 instead.
I'd probably Play Minecraft to test how good a device is. Why? Minecraft may not look like it but, max everything out, the simulation distance, the render distance and all the graphical options turned on, and play a single world in it for a month in Survival (Recommended to simulate daily usage.) A month later, you'll be able to determine how fast you CPU, Storage, and Ram is. You can find out how much your device can store before becoming too unplayable. You'll be able to see how efficient your device is because the game is both memory and cpu intensive and it'll get worse in the long run as you load in more chunks and have more stuff in those chunks. Everything in that Chunk will remain loaded for as long as you are in that chunk's range. Now imagine this but over 32-64chunks. The "Snapdragon 8 Gen 1" CPU still pretty much new to the market, most app currently (making of this video) aren't utilizing all it's cores :/ All the "Tab S8" have the same CPU but RAM options are only available on the "Ultra" edition (8GB/12GB/16GB), pretty much aim towards content creator once "LumaFusion" gets release on Android.
I want to see you emulate Forza Motorsports and Forza Horizon also I would like to see you emulate Dead Space 3 and Bulletstorm! Please let me know if you can emulate them and if so how, thanks. Although I doubt you'll have to emulate Forza, I know you can play Xbox One games thru game pass but what I don't think most people know is there is an Xbox One app that let's you start your console remotely from your android device and play the games you have on your Xbox One thru your android device. I was able to do this thru my Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G, my Wi-Fi at home is plenty fast and when you have a fast 5g Wi-Fi signal wherever your playing from it runs great and I've even managed to play without Wi-Fi when I had a really good 5g signal with very few glitches, now that there's Wi-Fi 6E I'm sure if it is on both the Xbox One and android end it will play smooth as butter

Game booster is literally affecting the performance of the device by playing with the resolution scaler and limiting the maximum possible power usage. Long story short, GOS is trash and remove it with ADB whenever you can or got a Samsung device with it.
@@Affectionate-Box30 I havent run into any problems like that. Ive also disabled temperature monitoring so FPS isnt affected by CPU or Battery temps. With that said, those issues had to do with the S22 lineup of which were supposedly fixed, My S21 Ultra had no such limitations to my knowledge. Comes down to actually configuring the game booster instead of letting it do what it wants by default.
Why didn't Samsung include a charging brick? With Apple, you'll get a charging brick if you buy their tablet so that you can also use it with your phone, but Samsung's S22 doesn't even come with a brick 🤔🤔🤔
How did you get such a high geekbench multicore score of 3500 and antutu score of 948,000. I watched couple other reviews where this tablet got about 3250 geekbench multi and 880,000 antutu scores. I'm excited for these higher scores but also confused as to why such a big difference between your score and someone else score. I'm sure there must be many factors affecting the score. Did you have everything else closed during your testing for example? Or did you find a software setting that boosted performance? Or did you simply start the test and stick this thing into a freezer, lol. Very curious about this and at the same time excited that this tablet can perform better than I've seen in other reviews.
Thank you for your review. 😊👍 But in my point of view It is still a giant phone. Android OS still do not have a dedicated tablet/laptop version. For example Google chrome on android is a joke compared to a chromebook. Have a nice day.
I can't help but think the CPU 8 gen 1 might bottleneck the new GPUs, you would think with the new 4 nm they could have updated core count to 10c - x2 x4 x4 or snapdragon X gen 1
I WOULD BUY THAT THING IN A HEARTBEAT IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT NOTCH!!! Samsung could have kept the bezel the same as the S7+ & S8+ and just have the two cameras with in the bezel! It wouldn't have mattered because IT'S A 14 INCH TABLET! That would have been so awesome.😒
YOU BRAGGART. LOL. Lucky. I wanted to get one, but they were gone by that time. Also, we do need to stop Samsung and the likes and NOT NORMALIZE this practice. 1) bezels on tablets MAKES SENSE, you hold it with your whole hand to support it, so making them silly and small makes it harder to hold the tablet without covering the screen. 2) losing .1in on the diagonal to hide the notch wouldn't have been noticeable. Since you're in charge of the panel, you can dictate its dimensions. 3) We need to end the notch. SERIOUSLY, shouldn't still be a thing in this day and age.

A quick question for the lucky ones who already got the tab S8 ultra - how does it handle manga/comics? Is it awkward at all reading in portrait mode?
No it’s not I got it...it’s fun !
But if you want not that big you can get the tab s8 plus
I want this as an 8-in tablet
2:08 damn, a 111200 mAh battery! Lord have mercy.
I'm in this thing is amazing and the screen size is amazing
That live wallpaper gives me android 3 live wallpaper vibes.
Can you tell what game controller are you using on this video? Thanks and more power!
Where are you getting these screensavers?
Why didn't Samsung include a charging brick? With Apple, you'll get a charging brick if you buy their tablet so that you can also use it with your phone, but Samsung's S22 doesn't even come with a brick 🤔🤔🤔
Very Well Explained Great Video! 👍🏾👍🏾
Hello, good afternoon. One question, is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 14.6 128GB with 8 GB of RAM?
Always an awesome videos Prime, hey quick question where do you get your live backgrounds for your tablet would appreciate to know to fix mine up 😁
Yes I would love to know how to add those live wallpapers to my Ultra as well!
I wish you try installing windows 10 on a phone and try out pc emulators. I really love to see how cemu and pcsx2 and other emulators work.
Nice Video as allways.
Just a little question.
Wich Tool did you use for fps showing on the screen?
Thanks
Thank you for your review. 😊👍
But in my point of view It is still a giant phone. Android OS still do not have a dedicated tablet/laptop version.
For example Google chrome on android is a joke compared to a chromebook.
Have a nice day.
Can you review the Lenovo Thinkcentre M710S?
Please share where you got the wallpapers. They are so cool.
I can't help but think the CPU 8 gen 1 might bottleneck the new GPUs, you would think with the new 4 nm they could have updated core count to 10c - x2 x4 x4 or snapdragon X gen 1
That wallpaper is amazing
Great video bro!
