Brilliant to have you back Rob . Brilliant video and very funny commentary , and of course good decoying mate, I hope you and Sam had a great Christmas and new year. Also well done Lewis. 👍Dave
Thanks Dave. Glad the video is well received, I'm surprised as it missed the barrel cam'. Scouting again tomorrow so hopefully out Sunday/Monday on Pigeons but if not we have some geese over at Morecambe Bay and that'll give us something different. All the best for 2020. Robert
Thanks Matthew. Struggled for time to get a video done and lots of small days not made it viable. Hope to get a few coming through over the next few months.
great video , great banter . I had a friend sadly no longer with us who would only shoot at pigeons hovering over the decoys and seemed to only have one working barrel , we of course never mentioned this too him lol .
Sorry Ryan I missed your comment. Thanks for watching, we do appreciate it. Just got rid of my ferrets, nets and finder this last week as now hammering them with the Night Vision so minimal stock left by now.
Bit late to the party robert but an absolutely cracking video , good banter , good shooting , remmy behaving herself and lewis , well what can you say , possibly got large breathing apparatus for the recoil problem , good old lewis get him out again
Cheers Davy. Well lets see how the lads get on today - Sam and Lewis are out shooting Pigeons together in this gale. Then they are away tomorrow for morning flight at the geese. Thanks for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it.
I use a Kicks Hy-Flyer Modified Keith. I've always had one in the SX4 and I had one in my previous semi, I've used them for about 10 years. I got the last one when I was out in the USA but I got them previous one direct from Kicks in the USA and I know a few folks who have bought them direct. They do pattern up really nicely and reduces muzzle flip. I do have Rhino's in my old Browning 325 Sporter and they are really good with plastic wadded loads but struggle with fibres whereas the Kicks do shoot well with fibres wads. Factory chokes in the Browning/Winchester are dreadful!
I wouldn't get anything fancy. We have 2 here and the oldest will be 10 years old and now through until May we will be using it 3-5 days a week so it has had some abuse. Don't get a lightweight one and you don't need a speed controller. Just basic and solid is what you need. If you really want to make sure it's bomb proof and great quality the ones from UK Shoot Warehouse are second to none. Get a set of arm extensions if you can as they can make a big difference but on a windy day they drain batteries faster. Thanks for the question and if you need any more help just ask. I've just done a basic blog feature on our website justshootingshop.com/blogs/news/pigeon-shooting-on-winter-oilseed-rape
I do a lot of pigeon shooting and I have a field of rape which is a triangle shape with a church and village on the top side and lanes running on all 3 other sides the field is 500 yds from centre to road all round and there's over a thousand birds dropping in every day but my experience tells me not to shoot it. Due to the noise it would cause and the fallout issues with the locals etc I would rather put a banger on or buy a hush power 20 gauge. Personally I think you made the wrong decision to shoot it as I too would be well pissed if someone was banging away all day on my off time but hey you're always gonna get some prick who doesn't give a f**k
Thanks for your comment Mike and as you do a lot of Pigeon Shooting I am sure we'd love to see your video's. Regards that particular field it was shot at the request of the landowner as a last resort as all methods of deterrent had been ineffective, As you are an expert I'm sure you will know that Kites, whirly things, bangers and scarecrows are effective for about 72 hours on fields where Pigeons simply want to be and will not be deterred. The only way to get a result is to shoot hard and if fact in most cases it is actually better and more effective to shoot prior to putting out a banger. Occasionally I will use the hushpower but would prefer not to where I am looking to move on a persistent pest....I'm sure you will be aware that the Hushpower is quiet and consequently has not got the same impact in terms of scaring large numbers of birds. That field was shot on another two occasion's and I think 400+ pigeons were shot....with no further issues. It was shot taking all reasonable precautions and to minimise disturbance.
Cracking video, love the commentary and advice, look forward to a few more this year. Keep practicing Lewis 😂👍
Cheers Martin.

With pigeons decoying like that I would have had 250 cartridges with me !!
I did have a spare slab in my pick-up but I wasn't telling Lewis that!
I hope the farmer doesn't set up 4 or 5 gas bangers next to the houses...........
good old lewis
I've got him out wildfowling next week so wish me luck!!
Tree hugging, grass munching, anti shooting pacamite 🤣🤣🤣
Aye, the buggers walk among us!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
