"if life was going to be really hard anyway, I might as well do the stuff I want to do" "I sort of no longer cared how much it made sense to other people" So true! I'm 41 now, I got my first B.A. in 2004 and have been working ever since. Because of a lot of personal/health related stuff and the pandemic, I went back to uni in 2021 to study for another B.A. It's been hard at times, juggling work and uni, but I'm loving it. And the older I get, the less I care about other people's opinions (about my choice of job, clothes, taste in music, whatever...) It's actually quite liberating!
I have been around here for about ten years. So wild I found your channel again and I find myself mid thirties as well in a masters phd program. Get it girl I love seeing you following your passion
That's interesting about your 20s. I few years ago I ran into a girl from University and I reminded her about something that she hadn't thought about in a long time. She looked back to her 20s in school as a time when the most she had to worry about was what to get for lunch. Since then she got married and divorced and had to worry about getting and keeping jobs.
Congratulations on your first year! I am dissertating, and also turned 50 this year. It’s easier after coursework and exams. I would say the hardest thing is TAing for someone else (read someone not organized and with questionable pedagogy for 21st century) you have already been an instructor of record and designed a class. Being older helps as does knowing how to work/communicate with others.
I'm turning thirty this year, and I had planned to at least have two Masters by now. Instead, I dropped out of two separate colleges... You are living the dream! Congratulations on your first year!
Good to see an update from you! CONGRATS on completing your first year and all the best with such a busy, busy schedule. Oh I have to look into that astrology series. I'm a Leo hope to snag that one.
From one elder millennial to another, I felt this so hard lol. I am literally sipping tea and chucking. Taking these lessons, I've applied for immigration and hope to apply my formal studies in fields that support my goals. All that aside, it is great to hear these updates!
I got my first university degree when I was in my thirties. It made all the difference, as I was able to take it seriously, and had life experience behind me which enabled me to deal with th e challenges that any degree offers. When I look back at my old college days, I had just turned 17 when I started college. Living away from home, being thrown into a totally new situation both socially and academically - it was just way too much at the time, and I knew it then but still ignored it and carried on. I guess some people are ready at that age, but I most definitely was not! :)
Congratulations! It’s wonderful that you’re working on expanding your degrees! I didn’t know (or I totally forgot) that you’ve done therapy. I’ve noticed that doing that important inner work not only helps ourselves heal, we also develop more skills to show up for those around us. It’s definitely a journey that’s unfolding in the long term. I’m so glad that you co-authored the Taurus book, it’s going to be a great series! All the best on your new one too, happy writing!
I am in my mid twenties, nearly two years into getting a PhD in science, and a practicing witch and let me tell you, everything you said resonated with me 😂😅 thankfully I'm really enjoying my PhD though!
Hi Thorn! I was just initiated into lineaged Alexandrian craft in Sydney… and your 2 books (which are excellent! In particular, The Witches Path- in addition to other initiate’s books RE BTW) were monumental in helping me make my decision. I went back to college in my mid-30s to study medicine (and specialise in Psychiatry- nearly done now) and although challenging, my initiatory path has enriched my career path enormously. Good luck with your studies, and I look forward to your next publication!
Good to see you back in my YT feed! My father completed his doctorate (Public Administration) while working full-time and being an involved parent. Kudos to you for tackling -- and surviving -- an insanely ridiculous workload and set of demands on your time! Also, that "being in your [XX] is really hard" comes in waves, be prepared for that situation redux in another 15 years or so.
I am in my 50s back in school getting a nursing degree so o o .... here we are, enjoy!
Nice to hear from you! Life sounds busy.

That’s amazing! Congratulations!
Thank you for sharing this video.
I can feel that you have thought a lot about many things and I really respect that.
I was just thinking about you, welcome back!
Welcome back!
My millennial heart resonates with all this SO much. Good for you for chasing your dreams! I also agree that our 20s are the worst 😂
So glad that decade-long nightmare is over 😂
Glad to see you're back! But we understand if you have other things to do 😊.

Hello from Finland. I like your videos. 🇫🇮

50s here too. I plan to keep going until I drop or get Alzheimer's. Enjoy the ride!
Congratulations! Best with all of these fabulous endeavors :)

Wow! And I’m intrigued about the book you are writing 💙🦋
Oooh, very excited for Book-3 🙌🏻✨
As a Gen Xer considering getting my PhD, this gives me some useful information to consider. Super excited about your 3rd solo book as well.😊

Great to see you Thorn. It’s so lovely to hear you are so happy at the minute.

Thank you. ❤
I did a PhD in my 30s. It sucked. The suction is still active. It's a Jet Propulsion Laboratory of suck. Mega suck. Suctagantora. The Suctorcist.
Haha! I’m so sorry! But I’m glad it’s over! 😂
@@drawingKenaz Yes. I'm also glad you're having a good experience. I have heard whispers that such a thing is possible. Your videos cheer me up.
Thank you. I’ve had to delay my Ph.D and this makes me feel like it’ll be ok

I was just reading a story about a guy with a sword named 'moonthorn'. I thought of you.

You had me at “sick of living in unprecedented times.” 😂
