This video is specifically what I was looking for. Was looking into this plugin as some sort of cheap alternative to the ehx micro synth bass. Watched some Jack Lawrence rig videos where he utilizes the EHX to make a completely filthy and unnatural bass tone and I can't find it within myself to spend $350+tax+shipping on a pedal right now lol. Thanks for this tutorial man
I agree with your review 100%. I tried this with vocals, and with Bass, and found the same thing:Presets sound the same. Also, for songwriting it’s a real stretch to find useable material. I’m not giving up on it though.
@@DaveypooMMM I,Personally, HOPE SO!! They talk ALOT of SHT on their SITE!! ROLAND,(I've got the GR-55,) and YEA,they've got a LOT of sounds... Connectivity and playin' the FCKR LIVE,is ANOTHER THING!!! A 20 or so bucks,I was HOPING SOMEONE Would come up with some SERIOUS SHT!! Knowing ROLAND, THEY'LL come up with something WAY AFTER the fACT, like the SY-1, WHICH they SHOULD'VE Done in the FIRST PLACE!!
@@MaliVinnyB It all comes down to how patient and diligent you want to be. Dedicate time to any app and you can learn to coax beautiful sounds from it. Roxsyn is the same - the tools are there, but it's not about what Yonac built with them, it's about what YOU build with them.
Hello Davey how are you ? I'm a bass player from Brazil and I have band who plays 80s pop music. Do you know if in Roxsyn if it´s possible to recreate the bass synth sounds of bands like Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, The Human League, etc ? Congratulations about your channel and best regards
Thanks for watching! I suppose the real answer is how accurate do you want to be? With some work, you can most likely dial in something similar, but I don't feel like you'd be able to fully recreate a sound from one of those bands with any real accuracy. If you want to sound as close to the song as possible, I'd use either a real synth or a synth app. If you want to "tip your hat" to the original by sounding similar, then Roxsyn will be fine. Hope this helps!
I've not used Roxsyn in a long time - probably since about the time this video was made. I would think that this has more to do with your input configuration than Roxsyn, but I don't even remember if Roxsyn outputs in Stereo or Mono-only. Sorry I'm not more help here....

You're welcome!
Great review , Thanks
You're welcome!
I’m gonna use this more for intros and little riffs to sprinkle into a song . Great review
It has it's place - so glad you liked the video!
"Roxsyn - You just have to turn on the red light" should be the tagline for this. :p

There's utility in there, you just need to be surgical to pull it out. It can be worth the effort if you're diligent!

I love it on vocals!

Not sure if u still use this but I couldn’t get my incoming signal to play in stereo within the app. Dry signal was only in right ear.
