Hey, you should use filling wax around the wing and scrap the excesses to have a good 90-100deg border (use 100deg to avoid locking the part in the mold) for the first part of the mold, it will avoid the gelcoat to go around the wing and lock it.
at the 6m mark: you could just use acryl as a sealent to prevent the Gelcoat to creap underneath... after opening the mod its easy to remove for the second half
Thanks for your enthusiasm! I’m working on it right now. You can expect the video before the end of May. The process goes with a lot of trial and error so thats why it’s taking so long.
Yeah. Copy. I copy wings too but only my own designs. I make them on my 3D printer and then mould them so I can do them in carbon. Resin infusion and packing tape makes it all much easier than in this video.
Haha. It's a lot of work, but It can be done a lot quicker than you see me do here. It's a fun way to spend your time though. And it helps develop skills you never knew you needed!
So much work. It was like a learning process. But you made it!
Yeah I made it! And it made it’s first glides in the French ocean past week. Video coming soon!
thanks for doing a video about it
welcome to vietnam . Tôi có thể xin kích thước thật của tấm giấy bạc đằng trước không
Could you spray compressed air in to separate the mold?
Thats a good idea! I will try this if I make another one.
Liked the Dick Dell surf guitar some tooling/ location pins would have helped you locate the two halves in the future.

Yes thats a good one! Thanks!
Nice!! Are you planning to do the video how to making the wing with this mold?
Yes! But i’m waiting for some nicer temperatures so I can work in my shed.
@@Dzjiefoils I see!! thanks for your reply. Have a good one

hey man I love this video. Very helpful. Do you know when you will make a wing out of the mold? Thanks!!

@@Dzjiefoils Thanks for the answer. Keep up the good work!
looks like a giant perogy. Can you eat it?
I tried many times, but I can't recommend it. ;p

Cool! How do you design your 3Dprints?
@@Dzjiefoils I design mine in openscad. Full mathematical control over the surface.
All of a sudden $600 doesn't seem like that much money.

Release wax is a bargain! 5 mins. of waxing/buffing will save you 5 days of cleanup. Preparation is EVERYTING.
Why not just use the wing you allready have ??
I do use it every time I go foiling. It is just a fun project.
And when I succeed in making this wing, I can sell my current wing and save money for a high aspect one.
@@Dzjiefoils ok that makes sense thanks for replying 🤙
How to make a front wing? Step 1. Buy a wing...
Nice!
You better make wooden bra
Nehhhhh…
Polyesther resin exhales some nasty toxic fumes, protect your health, use a solvant mask when using it =) great job otherwise !
I will next time. Thanks for the heads up!
