    I have to admit it is weird that I don't say anything EVER! We should have thought about that and I could have talked more. I do know how for anyone that is wondering

    Great trip! Are the slot canyons just a one way type or choose-your-own-adventure?

    Which month is the best season to visit? I watched a video taken in March and the slot looked so dirty. Yours is so clean and bright.

    Love the channel…been a loyal subscriber for the last 2 years. I see that you’re doing a lot more trips to the US. Do you have an upcoming video about how to pack for travel via airplane? What you can and cannot pack, and supplies you need to pick up locally? Keep up the great work!

    Be careful up there (well, down there for you). Looks like your camp was sort of set up in the wash. That's where the flash flood will flow and looked like you had some clouds in the background. Flash floods and debris flows can start 50 or more miles away, without any noticeable thunder or lightning or rain in your near vicinity. Stay safe, J Money G. and congrats again on your new job!!!

    I thought about making some pants that can carry water bottles on each side of the pants I'm thinking two smart water bottles on each side of the pants I figure it will take the weight off your back and be able to carry more water that way..

    Hi Justin, could you do an episode about nature preservation? Leave no trace, also including not using toxins like permethrin and using reusable and long lasting gear?

    • @JustinOutdoors
      @JustinOutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      I am currently planning a video all about sustainability. It's a very complicated subject with lots of marketing BS, so it's going to take quite a bit of time to research and put something together. But it's in the works!

    • @NL-in1eq
      @NL-in1eq 2 роки тому

      @@JustinOutdoors oh that great! I am always shocked about how much thoughts people put in their p* bag but then again buy new smartwater bottles daily, in regions with same tap water. Or they use permethrin to avoid mosquitos in non Malaria areas. By treating the clothes and tents all the toxins are washed in the nature. I know it’s very difficult as an hiker, since even our clothes, when not made of 100 wool, are producing microplastics. But there are things that are useful and fun. Toothpaste tablets, toothbrushes from bamboo or wood are saving me also a lot of weight! And 100% merino as baselayer is also much lighter and warmer.

    • @WasatchWill
      @WasatchWill 2 роки тому

      @@NL-in1eq Disease carrying ticks are a big problem in the U.S. and some can be as small as a pinhead so they are not always so easy to spot and remove after a hike. Mosquitoes here can also carry other diseases like West Nile Virus. So, permethrin still has value here, but it is worthy of discussion about what risks and compromises have to be considered when trying to be more sustainable. With most choices, there always seems to be a con or price to be paid that's more than just financial cost. Sometimes it feels like the only choice to make is picking your poison.

    • @NL-in1eq
      @NL-in1eq 2 роки тому

      @@WasatchWill check out Icaridin, its more effective agains ticks and mosquitos! and its at least saver for the environment than deet or permenthrin. I highly recommend it. The European brand name is Autan, it always wins all tests...

    • @WasatchWill
      @WasatchWill 2 роки тому

      @@NL-in1eq I'm well aware of Picaridin. Sawyer is the biggest brand for that here and that's usually my first line of defense for mosquitoes.

    I live on the east coast so the poo in a bag thing is totally new to me. Is this common and why exactly? We just dig a hole cover it up mark it with some sticks and done. I will say the last couple of times on the AT was disgusting poo paper every where I seen more human feces than bear scat.

    • @JustinOutdoors
      @JustinOutdoors  2 роки тому

      It's usually because the environment is sensitive or enclosed. Some soil doesn't have the microbes in it to break down poo. Other areas, like canyons, just don't have enough space for all the poo.
