NDIS workers won't care for severely disabled people when they can care for slightly disabled people instead, people with severe disabilities can't get help so scrap help for slightly disabled people who don't need it.
Anyone, any CHILD with a disability should be able to access help if they can't afford it no matter the level of effect it has on them. Or are you saying some CHILDREN & people don't deserve to have the same quality of life of the average person or CHILD ? The Senate Inquiry on Autism Services Supports and Life Outcomes reported that people with ASD have the worse of life outcomes than any other person with a disability sucide rates for autistic people is higher than the national average as well as the national unemployment rate for autistic people which is 36.4 percent the problem for autistic people is that non autistic people think they know what is best for us we live it and understand the unique challenges that the report made. Hopefully the National Autism Strategy will help make our whole of life outcomes more dignified
I’m a Support Coordinator for NDIS. I also have Autism and ADHD - I’m a single parent, and have worked full time in mental health services for 16 years. I look competent and successful on paper, but my daily struggle under the surface is something perhaps only another Autistic/ADHD person can fathom. I see funds being wasted on a lot people with physical disabilities - and I’m talking really excessive stuff. The people with Psychosocial needs are complete overlooked. NDIS tell us to get the support they need from the Medical field - so many GP’s simply won’t refer their patients to see various specialists/clinicians under a care plan when they know you have an NDIS plan. The GP’s are put out by all the work put in them by the NDIS and they dig their heels in. It’s completely chaotic.
As soon as people see any kind of insurance they gouge the system Medicare sees constant rorting by Medical machine, NDIS gets rorted by Tradies who charge insane amounts for simple works, Some carers rort the system for themselves whilst their poor charges are treated like animals its a bloody disgrace YET some of us who try and deliver great services at low costs are swept away by Government BS and red tape. OK we are gone sorry people who benefit from our service lifes too short for this crap. let the Politicians wipe your bottoms, deliver much loved dance and movement programs and therapies......

I’m a single mother with a non verbal level 3 autistic son who’s almost 5, he needs extra supports to help him learn the basics, because at the moment he can’t even be toilet trained. I’ve never had the single parent payment, I work. The ndis doesn’t allow me to sit at home, It allows me to be able to get him OT and speech therapy consistently to help give him a chance at a better outcome later in life and help him catch up to his peers.

When one person can get a cheap rental property through tge NDIS, then move in with their other half and rent out said property at true rental value, there is something terribly wrong with the system. Why should I subsidise property inly for that person to sub let it for profit.
