I had a great night! Got a signed T-shirt with Daniel and Timecop. If this happens again next year...i'll be there Regards, the guy with the LED sunglasses.
Thank you Timecop1983 for allowing our 80s culture to work thru you to take us back to the days that forged us into the adults we are now. The best times in our life. It may not have been perfect. But it was our time to dream and know what it was like to just be carefree and happy.
Tracklist: 00:00 - Dont let go 03:58 - With you 08:20 - My first crush 13:49 - Dreams 18:40 - L.A. Nights 22:16 - ? 27:08 - Running in the dark 30:56 - Dimensions 35:35 - Tonight 40:45 - Let's Talk 45:45 - Lost in your eyes its a nice playlist. i miss stuff from the Lovers EP but on the other hand, he played the half Running in the dark EP, which is fine too
The song at 22:16 is “River of Darkness”-The Midnight which he collabed with, but since I guess The Midnight wasn’t there, he made his own version of it live 👌🏻👌🏻
Weird that Time Cop 1983 would play Trevor Something in his own set for a show. Not complaining, just found it peculiar. I don’t know which tracks are his and which are not beyond “First Crush”.
A wounderful genre..sadly I only discovered it a week ago. The 80's would have been my time - even though born in '99. Wounderful cars and music :D I cant understand how people think this concert is "stiff" with the crowd not moving ;( It is a wounderful come-together and people are enjoying the music and having fun with each other. I totally love the scene already
The '80s are an interesting time that seems to appeal especially to those who weren't there. I'm from '89 so I don't remember the time either, yet I love all the music from that decade. Funny thing is many synthwave artists are also too young to really remember the '80s. Timecop is from 1983, and The Midnight's Tyler Lyle is from 1987.
@@MentalParadox You're not totally wrong here. I was born in '83, like Timecop1983, old enough to remember the end of the 80s, so I'm caught in between the nostalgic romanticism of new retrowave and what I actually remember as a small child. I personally choose to enjoy aesthetic of new retrowave artists like Timecop1983, but also recognize that the 80s wasn't all neon and synthesizers. It's a fine line to walk
Jesus, this whole thing is money. I could listen to this without end. Thank you, TC83, for existing and giving me and everybody who loves your music a chance to experience something so beautiful. :)
as much as I love me some Timecop 1983 I think the word "live" is a bit misleading, this is like say, Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins (or any other band leader) going to a club, playing a SP CD and then saying it's a live concert...would love to see a more "live" aspect of TC83 though, even if it was just Dana Jean Phoenix singing live to the prerecorded tracks...that'd be awesome!
The issue with this event is that no one at this club was a teenager around the time this style of music was new and people were dancing to it... No one is dancing to it... They don't even no the "Skip step"... C'mon...
The audio is live. the only thing is the mic/mc isn't recorded and there is no crowd sound! The camera/sound team for some reason didn't record sound from the crowd. But this audio is coming from Timecop1983's set.
i guess he plays the music files and does a mix. It's preety difficult to play this kind of music live, having to make sequences/arpeggiators and deal with the keyboard and basslines all together.
O.k. so I will start my music mixing brand and call it, "Bullet 1968" being that I was born that year. And start producing mixes with that time period's music, right..? Isn't that the formula here...? However, I was a baby I didn't pay attention to the music... What is it about going back to a time you were not even aware of and yearning for it? I can understand being between 13-19 and wanting to be a teenager again, being young again and having "real memories" of a time period's music. But, what memory does a baby or toddler have..? .02¢
BossaNossa1 no it's really about the vibe of 80s music, when synths became popular. So it's about going back in nostalgic Time. It works for me goosebumps wise as I was a kid in the 80s so I'm soaked with nostalgia. Musically it was great time. The 60s 70s were not synth more prog rock.
Take it easy you butthurt old man. Just let people enjoy the music, there is a reason that the 80's was a high point in music, it was good. So people are naturally going to be drawn to it, either by nostalgia or simply because it is good.
Has it occurred to you that maybe some people who weren't born around that era, still have heard stories, watched tv and movies, and liked the style, and fashion, and music of that time period? That maybe some people are interested in a time in history that was simpler and people connected through human interaction rather than a screen? Us young people have never experienced the 80's, but know it's held in high regard among many people, and we are attracted to the cultural explosion that happened during that time. Today, we have technology beyond our wildest dreams, and that's amazing, but as a consequence, we've also lost that human-to-human interaction that we know was more prevalent in the 80's. We long for it, but know we'll never have it again.
'68? I'm from the mid 80s and I can tell you that this definitely resonates with me. Growing up in the very early 90s and throughout that decade certainly had stuff from the 80s with synthesized music being one of them. And then I would watch some shows from the 80s and it was all the same to me. This music definitely takes me back and it's incredible.
take it easy pal, i was born in 1982 by 1987 i was 5yo and i can still remember some stuff i did back then, like watching cartoons on a saturday morning, even playing outside our house, i can still remember our good ol neighbor blasting his cassete tapes of new order, the cure etc on his sony boom box. life back then was really simple we dont have too much technology thats why people can easily remember stuffs that they did.
♥ best night in my life. proud I was there ♥
23:00 - WHAT'S THIS SONG?FROM NEW ALBUM?
I feel like that was on his latest album Home or Prologue maybe
it's a remix of "secrets"
you shure?
ya I just don't know what remix specifically, or he could've just done it there himself
I yawn how much I love this stuff.
7 years later and i still wish we could find this original mix of river of darkness somewhere on the web to download
This is the type of song I want on every club!
I had a great night! Got a signed T-shirt with Daniel and Timecop.

Also, Timecop1983 Hard to dance to...but despite how the crowd looks, the applause and cheers he gets afterwards are huge.

Let's talk...

Bit slow though like a library
The audio from this definitely isn't live. I wanna hear exactly how it sounded at the show.
The audio is live. the only thing is the mic/mc isn't recorded and there is no crowd sound! The camera/sound team for some reason didn't record sound from the crowd. But this audio is coming from Timecop1983's set.

Great live, static crowd, shame
They are enjoying the music, not screaming like on a justin bieber concert.
Who said they should be screaming? I couldn't really enjoy a concert where people don't dance, this is just stiff and compelled asf
EXACTLY!!! We were tripping from the music, it was sooooo good. Best night of my life!
