In my eyes, yes, it does make a difference; I find the 50fps videos (PAL ones) unsmooth (mostly on pans). I'm very picky about video smoothness so it could be just me. BTW, sorry for the late reply.
Shot it with the Intelligent Auto mode. I don't remember but I guess the camera set the macro mode automatically. Back then I used the IA mode but now I would just use the normal mode and change settings when needed.
Hola que tal, felicidades por la camara. Yo compre hace un par de semanas la camara version española pero estoy al contrariado. Veo tus videos y tienen mejor resolucion y calidad que en la mia. Me he puesto a verlos en la ps3 que los admite y los veo con mas ruido. El codec que pone la play que esta ejecutando es el avc y no avchd que no se si deberia ponerlo. Gracias y felicidades
Hola Gorka, la verdad es que, si ambos usamos el mismo formato (AVCHD Lite SH), no se por que se tendria que ver diferente. Si me hubieses dicho que los tuyos los ves algo menos fluidos, entonces si que seria comprensible ya que el modelo PAL graba a 50fps y el NTSC a 60. En cuanto al ruido, depende de la escena pero, por ejemplo, acabo de ver un video grabado con la TZ7 en la PS3 y si que aprecio mas ruido (de hecho, diria que en el PC se ve mejor). Que modo de grabacion usas? iA?
Por cierto, a mi tambien me pone en la PS3 que el codec de video es el AVC, asi que es normal. En cuanto a que en el PC lo veas con calidad regular tampoco es normal aunque, que reproductor usas? Y que codecs de video? Podrias subir un video tuyo a alguna pagina tipo Megaupload (Rapidshare no que me va muy lenta en comparacion) y asi te puedo decir como lo veo yo?
The reason I specify that I own the Japanese model is because someone asked me if the european model also shot at 60fps. As I live in Spain they thought I had the european model. By the way, I also love taking photos with the TZ7 but the video performance of this camera is so great that I end up shooting some video scenes every now and then :) Regards and I'm glad the clips were helpful.

No, you can't; the framerate is fixed (60FPS on the NTSC models and 50 on the PAL ones).
