kobo's screen is "whiter" and better even then usual NA3. It has far more "paper" look than boox. And as I always say: we see screen 100% time using reader, so screen is most important part.
Having a Kobo Libra 2 as my reading device from my first ever kindle basic, the Note Air 3C is my first colored tablet. I have no qualms about it. I’m just so happy of having a colored one (and being a digital notebook at that) having living under a black and white device for years
@@arm8636 it more for document reading like pdfs. If you are into novel books, it would be advisable to opt with boox page, boox mini tab c, kobo library 2 or kindle paperwhite. It’s advisable to use backlight most of the time except you are in a well light room or outside
I think the comparison should have be on Boox Air 3 and kobo. Both black and white. What I would like to see is the books annotation capabilities. Can you write on the boox Air 3 inside the kobo app, as you can on Kobo Elipsa? If the experience of writing, underline, highlight and taking notes is the same on the book itself that your reading, there’s no doubts which one to choose. And on the kindle app, can you also write, underline or highlight inside the book itself? That’s my doubts. I appreciate your answer to help me choose. I have kobo Sage, and I love taking annotations like I do in real books (on paper), but I don’t like the experience of writing outside the books. I’m looking for something which does the same as Kobo does plus on kindle and adds a good taking notes or drawings. Thanks for helping.
Hello, yes, you have the same annotation features in the android app, but without the pen input being available on the Boox. You can highlight as you would in the app. You could download the Kobo and Kindle mobile apps on your phone to try, as that is essentially the same app you will get on the Boox. :-)
Thank you for sharing. I really like the Boox's functions, but I can't get away from the Kobo's screen and look. I chose a Clara or Kindle and felt I made the right decision. I won't get away from epub. This one is a bit tougher to choose.
It was a nice video, but I'm still unsure about what to buy. I'm intrigued by the colors and the possibility of reading PDFs on the Boox. However, I'm hesitant because it seems more like a tablet with an e-ink screen rather than a dedicated e-reader. I don't really like the phone-like menu, and the fact that I might need apps just to read eBooks is a downside for me. On the other hand, I like that the Kobo is primarily an e-reader, designed specifically for that purpose. While the additional functions aren't as strong, that's not its main focus. I'm still uncertain because I have some self-help eBooks/PDFs-would it be possible to use them on the Kobo? Could I also read a few comics on it? I've never done that on an e-reader, but it might be nice. However, the lack of color could be disappointing, especially if I want to read something like The Simpsons comics. My main concern is that my current Kobo H2O is very slow when navigating within or between books, and I want something with better performance. Also, the Boox is quite expensive in comparison. In conclusion, I still haven't made up my mind...
When annotating on ebooks, can you write directly on the page like the Elipsa 2e? Also, can you change the size of your pen when writing in an ebook? The kobo doesn’t allow you to change the size of your pen when writing in a ebook, only in the notebooks.
Yes, you can write directly on the page in ebooks using the built in neo reader, and you be can change pen size. I haven't tried all the formats but it works on pdf and epub that I've tried. 🙂
I bought a Remarkable and a NA2+. The Remarkable was much easier to use and understand. The file system on the NA2+ was a bit screwy and nearly impossible to understand. Both platforms are slow as compared to what I’m used to; an Apple iPad. I dumped them both and went to an Apple Air 13” (M2) and am much happier.
Very few people seem to worry about it much, but all boox devices have such laggy and slow software and the responsiveness reminds me of a bygone era of dot0matrix printers and dial-up modems. It really, really, really ruins the experience for me. I've tried several boox devices and really do want to like them, but whatever functionality they offer, it just is not user friendly. Hard pass on anything boox for me.
Since November 18th 2023, there are 15 mentioned (reviews) about Boox Note Air 3 C specifically and more than 30 mentioned about other Boox products. Most comparisons was made with Remarkable, Kindle, Kobo etc. Sometime, I feel I had enough with this so called Boox Note Air 3 C. I mean, with 15 coverage, how deep can we go to review this product he he he.
Hehe, many thanks, I had a count myself and I get 19. And that's not including it's inclusion in round ups! I have a few more planned for the Note Air 3 C, and although I take your point there is still quite the demand for content on this device. I get asked lots of questions about it, and I try to add content which answers those. I also think that it is valuable for people as they cannot easily find these devices in shops to go and have a look at in real life. I am, at the same time, adding content which diversifies the range of products which I cover, but it takes a little while to build up expertise and authority on those devices so that UA-cam recommends the content more often. Watch this space, and also, please do suggest and request things you would like to see more of on my channel. 🙂
@@KitBetts-Masters Dear Sir, thanx for the clarification he he. I had few request which I hope you will show in your next video: Since Boox NA3C had the best built in camera, can you show how it can scan a text document in foreign language other than English (may be an Arabic language) and I was also made to understand that Boox NA3C also had a built in Document Text Translation Apps. I wanted to see if this model can translate the scanned Arabic text to English language? Another features which I wanted to see in your next video is, if this Boox NA3C can transcribe speech or voice to text since it has the best built in Microphone. Really looking forward for you to show this features with Boox NAC3 Pro.
Thanks for the tutorial. Do you know if there is a way to insert new handwritten text between existing handwritten text? In typed notes you would just position the cursor where you want to insert new text and type away, but wondering if there is a way to insert new handwritten text between existing text without having to delete the old text.
I actually got to use the 3C in Bangkok, they have them on display in stores - the color sucks. Muddy, desaturated. If you're expecting comic books to come alive, the tech just ain't there yet. Also, I've heard reviewers call them 'snappy'. This must be a relative term. Page turns were fine, but doing anything else on it was like drinking custard through a straw (and this is with just the pre-loaded demo files). If you're used to PC/iPad responsiveness, these ereaders will annoy the balls off you. I've revised my use case for current gen devices to only include reading.
That's cool that they have them on display. I agree that colour still has a way to go, but for me, it makes using apps on e-ink so much better. You are right that snappy is relative. But for so many people the e-ink is such a benefit over LCD or OLED that this is a trade off worth having!
I would probably see more of your videos if you used your natural voice, the one that pops here and there along the video. Beyond the damage that you are doing to yourself, here are 3 reasons to detest your forced low tone and resonance: 1. It is extremelly distracting 2. I need to put too much attention to what you are saying, trying to decode your words . 3. It follows that modern trend of using a voice of "I give a fuck about the world" that some people uses nowadays and that a lot of people despises
I hate to criticize someone who seems like a nice person, but his vocal fry is very distracting for sure and I almost stopped watching several times. I'm sure most people are not bothered, but it definitely makes me inclined to not watch any other videos created by him.
@@jaywinger79 I want to give credit to @KitBetts-Masters because in his last video today 2024may15, it seems that he is now using his natural voice.
