At Georgia Southern University is the Herty Pine Forest, a tract of old-growth Southern Yellow pines used for turpentine research. Buildings on campus were named after Herty.

I want to do it just to do it. I'm in central Georgia and the only thing I have is loblolly pine. It's very rare to see anything else around here
