First off....great interview. I'm struggling with colon cancer and man I can relate with your emotions regarding "The Cannibal Within". I was able to speak to Danny in Austin before what was supposed to be my final chemo dose. Turned out to just be dose 6 of 12. I got to see him again last week and I get my 12th dose on Monday. Really enjoyed the first interview I've been able to focus on in close to a year.

That final comment about the magic in some shows… I was just in one of Amigo’s concerts (Boston) and I was telling my therapist it felt how I imagine a religious experience might feel. His songs and their performance do have that power to communicate emotion in a way that feels magical. So specific and yet, universal, bridge gapping, a million different meanings (I imagine) for everyone in the room yet a distinct and clear shared experience. I’ve felt so disconnected for the past few years and this one concert, this experience gave me hope that these may not always be my truths.

Great interview, listened to the podcast on Apple app and came straight here to youtube for the complete interview.
Seeing Danny in Brighton UK this coming Thursday, and it'll be my sons first gig.

Hi Danny, I don’t comment that often but the answer to why you wanted that Gacy painting? It’s the allure of the forbidden and the prospect of displaying something so intangible to most everyone that’s attractive and compelling to you. Btw my husband I were at the Ogden theatre when you played with Lucero. You signed the back of our marriage certificate “Life is the joke, death by is the punchline”. You invited us to the Goldroom for the after party. Such a cool experience and we are forever fans because of how you treated us. Love you. Rachelle and Jamison Watters

My Grandfather in the last years of his life said this to me "if you knew what I know now, you could kill it, you could rule the world"
So obviously I said " so tell me, what do I need to know" 😲
    The reply was genius
"I could tell you, but you've got to figure it out for yourself"
It hurt at the time, but he was right
