No, you can lock out the servo saver, however it does help protect your servo - even if you have a metal-geared one. Those big tires produce alot of force when they take a hit. We use the one provided, just tightened down a bit more than normal to reduce deflection.
Okay thank you I completed the build but having issues. I've tried too look online too fix it but can't find nothing I kno what I'm doing but I'm a lil stumped. so when I start the engine I can't get the the wheels too stop spinning.and when I turn left or right it only wants too turn when put pressure on the shocks.any advice
i just put mine together watching few different vidios i did few thungs wrong but easy fixes, 1 turn out on my servo saver

I don't have the servos hooked up yet so I was thinking that could be the steering issue?
Or I completely hooked a few things up wrong I followed the video pretty well tho but who knos.
I have controlled the idle on the engine but still can't get them too stop spinning.
