This is the first time I've ever heard (seen) Nokie's version of Tears in Heaven. Awesome!!!! God Bless.
The Ventures are my all time favorite band!!!! I took a trip in 1993 from my home in Central California ...all the way to Booneville, Arkansas just to see Nokie Edwards play Live at the Mosrite Factory. Nokie Edwards is the best!

I love the way Nokie plays this tune.
A gentle giant in music, so sweet and a pleasure to listen too... he's a master !!!!

I love this! Nokie's the shit! I have FAR greater appreciation for a simple man like him with decades of playing experience then some bullshit, choreographed, 10 million eccentric lady Ga-Ga show. Great music is simple in that a a man (or woman) and his guitar in front of microphone is all a listener needs to be happy and musically satisfied who got their money's worth!
I am so glad I got to meet and sit and play several years ago with my idol since the 1960s at the Chet Atkin Appreciation Society in Nashville. He was such a beautiful Soul. It's memory I will always cherish.
ONE OF THE BEST GUITARITS EVER ....TOP 5 ANYWAY. VENTURES ROCK...
The more effortless it seems to be, the greater the mastery. And the more musical the soul.
Taught myself to play a drum kit by whacking my homemade drumsticks on the furniture along with my Columbia Record Club Ventures LPs, as loud as I could get away with. Loved Nokie and the Ventures. God bless.
after 60 years of playing this is what is the result. Nokie has earned respect the old fashioned way....practice practice and more practice. Nokie need not take a back seat to any living guitar player today.
Happy birthday, Nokie.
Great! As always-Lethia
Great!!!
Rest in Peace.
As a guitarist, I have to say that after watching and listening to this, I could quit. JR
