  • Are you tired of the default start menu on your Windows 10 & 11 devices? Look no further! In this Microsoft Intune tutorial, I'll show you how to create and deploy a custom start menu tailored to your organization's needs.
With Intune, creating a custom start menu is quick and easy. We'll go step-by-step through the process of creating a custom JSON file, importing it into Intune, and deploying it to your users.
The command line to capture the Start Menu JSON is below
    Export-StartLayout -Path "C:\Layouts\LayoutModification.json"
The OMA-URI from the video is below
    ./Vendor/MSFT/Policy/Config/Start/ConfigureStartPins
The below books are excellent resources and starting points for anybody starting out in Intune

Thank you so much I really appreciate that. I’ve not been able to make many videos recently due to being busy with projects at work but I’m hoping to start again in the coming weeks so stay tuned.

Thank you for the tutorial! Can i deploy this to device group too or has it to be deployed to user groups only?

Personally I’ve always deployed start menus to users even in my GPO and SCCM days so I’ve not actually tried deploying to devices. Try it and let me know how you get on.

I have recently launched a website to compliment this channel and I have posted a tutorial on there today as it was much quicker than doing a video. You can get to it via www.thedeploymentguy.co.uk

@@bella2028volleyball For now I am concentrating on the UA-cam channel. I decided to take the website down but it may be something I do again in the future if this channel grows enough.

Thank you, very useful video. Do you perhaps know how to show all the icons on the taskbar in the right corner using Intune? Greetings from Belgium.

Sorry I missed this comment. When you say right corner do you mean how to pin icons to the right of the start button on the taskbar?

@@thedeploymentguy Hi, no problem. I mean the small icons next to the date on the taskbar. Now, most of them are hidden. Tray icons they are called, I think.
