I’ve been working it up on the five string! Elizabeth Cotten is my favorite guitarist, I have to play it on the banjo because I just can’t touch the way she plays it on the guitar.

I love trains too! I started out playing a tenor but I wouldn’t say I ever properly learned to play it before I picked up the five string. Now I play this banjo guitar in lieu of an actual guitar because it gets the volume of a resonator without the fragility. Recently learned the banjo guitar predates the popularity of the guitar in America and was introduced as a way for jazz tenor players to get some bass notes rather than as a “cheater instrument,” so I guess this is as close as I get to a tenor these days!
