Always enjoy the info you share. Thank you for the time you take to do these tutorials. My shooting has come to a temporary halt. Shoulder issues are making it tough for shooting.
I’m so sorry to hear that, I hope you’re better soon! By the way I really appreciate the comments you leave all of my videos, I can go back and find them all the way back to my first videos at the Oregon coast! Thank you! I’m hoping to make it back to the beach soon!
@@wollertz I'm just starting to do a microstock photo/video submitting for this month.., but most of my stock is an AI generated image, just got 34 Downloads for total of this month, anyway i learn something new from your video, keep posting and doing a great job to inspire us all here.. thanks
@@harfstudio Thats awesome! I know recently shutterstock announced they are not going to be accepting AI generated images, and im sure more are to follow, but as long as it is possible, upload as much as you can! Thanks for the comment, Cheers!
Hey man you really post things I wanted to know, it’s great if possible try mentioning which camera and lens you are using at the particular time, for example like the mini b rolls you done in this video near the water falls and all
Ill keep that in mind, I mostly use 3 lenes 13-50 2.8 for vlogging, 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 for B-roll, once in a while the 100-400, or a 180 Macro, but not frequent
Great Video! Let me ask you a question please. Do you think it is better to put your photos exclusively to one stock agency or is it better to spread the same photos over several agencies? Thanks a lot for your answer! Kind regards from Germany!
Hi! And thank you, I considered going exclusive when I started, and I chose not to, what I learned is that different agencies sell different content, so for example I have the same or close to the same images on all my platforms, but shutterstock sells cocktails, deositphotos sells birds, Adobe sells travel and so on, what I did started doing later on was after a trip, if I had 1000 images form the UK I would upload 500 to the agencies that don’t take exclusive photographs, like shutterstock, deposit etc, and then 250 to Alamy as an exclusive photograph (not exclusive photographer) and another 250 to Dreamstime as an exclusive photograph, this way when they sell on those agencies as exclusive I get a higher percentage as my royalty
Hi There ! I have a question ? When you say that you sell pictures of signs , do you sell them as an editorial or commercial , with a property release ? I would like to do this with the high end store , with people shopping 🛍️
only if you sell comercial or RF stock, I can sell editorial stock without a release if I sell to a magazine it depends on the usage, I only ask for releases for posed shoots when I work directly with he model, I im just out hiking and i snap a few shots I don go thru the trouble
So, with your travel photo's that you sell for stock, and there are random strangers in them. Do you have to have a signed release from all of them to use for stock photography, like I've heard about before? If so, how do you approach them?
It depends on the photo, if it’s an epic image with one or two people I literally approach them with the camera of course (it’s a conversation starter) I tell them I got a great shot of them and I thought it could be a great seller as a stock photo, would you mind signing a release, I’ll send you a copy of the photo when I have your email. 90% of people don’t know what a stock photo is. So I explain that and always say there’s a chance you might end up in a magazine somewhere. (That always works) For busy photos with more people I sell them as editorial images, the usage is less than commercial but still very good sellers and no release requiered
Anytime there is a recognizable person to f you sell it as a royalty free image, it requires a MR, this not only protects the agency but it also protects you as the photographer even if it is a selfie, this world we live in today is all about legality’s and protecting yourself is just as important as the agencies protecting them selves.
Micro stock agencies mostly , but also directly to local magazines or editors I have a few videos on stock photography, I’ll add the links to this description! Thanks!
Yes, used for travel blogs, information on different locations in things like slideshows, travel magazines and thats only the ones I've found, I've made a few thousand dollars form pictures of me 😁
I haven't considered selfies as stock photography. But I will now. Great video.
Yes! I sell a lot of selfies! Thanks for the comment
I often photoshop people out of photo. Great reminder that it's good include them sometimes. Great 👍 pic on the new profile photo.

I’d like to learn about focus stacking. My apologies if I’ve overlooked it, but I don’t see that you’ve done any videos on the topic.

I have some on focus stacking for macro, but not for landscapes

Editorials. Anytime there’s something or
