  • In this episode we look at the design in Amnesia to find some answers to the question: "What makes Amnesia the scary game it is?"
We use the MDA framework as discussed before in the analysis. If you do not know what that is yet, watch the first episode in the Game Plunge series as an introduction to MDA: • How do we analyze game...

Ok that house and object at 2:10 looks scary as hell to me. Someone should make a horror game using that style of nightmare fuel.

      Can't think of a game, but someone did a movie! :O It's called Monster House (2006)! www.imdb.com/title/tt0385880/

Look boyo, a quality video for once!
But seriously, what the fuck did I stumble on? These are excellent videos. The more popular ones is how I found you... But even these less popular are fire. I was engaged and intrigued the entire 17 minutes. Well done lad, whatever made you leave, I hope you return with this burst of new people. This is quality content, and I will be binging your entire channel this weekend.

Really cool to see these games being dissected completely. What game would be your next project? Bioshock perhaps?

This is really cool, great job! Its always interesting to hear games being torn apart. One suggestion I might put out is to get to the point a little bit quicker? Everything you talked about was interesting to me, but it seemed the main points as to why amnesia is scary (occlusion, panic, unsettling, etc.) were spaced very far apart in the video. Two cents! Keep up the good work.

Ars Technica did a video on this game where they interviewed the devs and got their perspective. They explained how they designed the game to be scary and what their goal was.

The most scary game I ever finished was Doom 3, and I had to force myself through it. More recently I tried to play Alien Isolation and only made it one hour into the game before I turned it off and never touched it again.

i wonder if it is possible tp make a jorror game based arround non uclidian space and your microphone beimg able to affect something in game
so for example: you think you see the enemy in a mirror and run and walk into a room but because ir's non euclidian you just ran into the room where you just saw the enemy in
or seing the monster taking a turn making you think you are safe whwn in reality he just took a shortcut

I see why this channel was dead for a while...
    1.5k views?
    Such a shame.

i think a jump scare is the cheapest, most cliché "scary" thing that can be in a video-game or a movie.

I think a lot of the popularity actually came from outside factors. While the game is pretty decent, the real popularity came from Channels like Pewdiepie and Markiplier playing it.
