Yeah, ain't capitalism great. In fairness, Spirit were then free to grow in other markets and picked up significant business building bits of Airbus aircraft (which is now being unwound separately to the Boeing exit).
"Boeing selling spirit was like you selling one of your organs. Thankfully they have bought it back." Spirit has no problem producing quality parts to airbus and the 737max door mistake came from boeing..
Okay Boeing has bought back spirit aero systems, now what? This doesn't solve the underlying problems. There is much work ahead of the company in the coming years.
The name Spirit makes me think of drinking lots of distilled alcohol, considering the sloppiness and its unfortunate consequences associated with the company.
All of the production facilities Spirit used to make bits for Airbus are being bought by Airbus for $1 AND Airbus is being paid $559 million by Spirit/Boeing to buy them.
@@rodrigogoncalves6165 Compensation for disruption to it's production pipe-line - in other words, by acquiring Spirit Airbus will incur some costs - these are offset by the payment from Spirit.
this is a huge win for boeing. spirit make stuff for so many other people. good luck with the assurances there. airbus really need new partners. talks with embrarer should be top priority for a new line for a320s. airbus only other alternative is opening another line in china.
Boeing, Airbus and Bombardier all are buying parts from Spirit Aerosystems. Yet only Boeing seems to have the quality issues. I wonder if the other two are just better at covering things up or if they are able to detect faulty items better than Boeing.
Nobody is covering up anything. Boeing wasn't covering up either. They just rushed production and skipped quality control. When you do decent quality control, you catch possible quality issues.
The bad blood between both was outstanding. Boeing mugged and tricked Spirit into losing money for years with the 787 deals. Most people at Spirit should have felt that in their skin.
Some random news article (WDRB news) - "BOEING is buying stressed supplier SPIRIT."
"It previously owned SPIRIT airlines at one time"
"I journalismed today!"
Huh, seems like 12 News is repeating that article in their YT Title.
What they should say is buying it back...they owned it previous to spinning it off.

It was the only acceptable way to handle the mess Boeing created when they originally devested the unit.

Makes me think more of all the lives lost to their slapdash approach to safety.
Boeing charged with FUI, Flying Under the Influence.
Or you know Spirit Airlines.
Spirit airlines
@markiangooley I think the idea was that "Spirits will fly/soar".
Back down to earth.
Boeing is better off reinforcing the supply chain by amalgating Spirit amid tainted reputation following the 737 max fallout.
Maybe Airbus might start building their own fuselage ?
Cannot believe i actually say. this but this is first good decision boeing make to be good again one day
Can anyone explain to me the deal between Airbus and Spirit?

@@YoyoZee so Airbus is being paid to buy something?
@@rodrigogoncalves6165 yep

@rodrigogoncalves6165 yes because it's loss making.
Who will get the counterfeit titanium?
Aeroflot.
RIP Spirit ☠️

LOL! You aren’t wrong about that
✈️
Great…. more ways for Boeing to slack on quality
Aliens will cry!
What safety and quality systems?
Boeing actually have safety and quality systems?
Well they are pretty much forced to after the problems.
Boeing buys Ex-Boeing company 😆

They've got separate sites that are run differently

no cover up, just boeing doing boeing things
Where in heavens name are they getting the money from?
Watch the video smh
hi
Boeing has no clue what it is doing.
