Menzies introduced conscription, sent us to Vietnam, & spent several weeks in Nazi Germany and said he was extremely impressed with the achievements of the "New Germany" (such as the abolition of trades unions, suppression of the right to collective bargaining and outlawing of the right to strike) returning to Australia the following month Menzies unashamedly expressed favourable views of the Nazi dictatorship, based as he said on his own first hand experience...how cultivated
I'm an Aussie, I really wish I spoke like this, it's got some class about it.
22nd of the Prime Ministers, which would occur only 3 years later. High Achievement

he seems GA speaker trying to hide his native accent with a RP one. I think John Howard had the classic GA accent we all recognise around the world.
I'm an American, trying and failing to distinguish this from England's Received Pronunciation. How does one do it? What does one look for?
I don't know anybody who speaks this dialect. He seems to be vacillating between R.P. and General Australian.
@Choson4eva i learnt that in my English Language class today!! (:
lolol I am Australian and I don't think many Australians would be able to tell either so it's all good :P
sounds like the queens accent.
An acquired accent indeed!
Ohh my god, listen to the accent would you, he sounds british not australian, its sounds worse than the britsh accent in fact painful to listen to
He speaks properly. Not like some bogan from the burbs or the bush with a grating nasal twang.
Worst PM ever
