TERRIBLE LIST! I hate how all these “best of all time” always are biased towards the latest games. Where is Mario Kart? Where is WipeOut? Where is Pole Position? Where is F-Zero? Where is Hydro Thunder? where is Ridge Racer, Pit Stop, Rush 2049, Sega Rally, Daytona USA or Wave Race? There are so many classic racing games that were completely overlooked because the people putting these videos together have a very short line of sight. Only what they are personally familiar with or are within the past 10 years.
People searching for videos like this are looking for games to play RIGHT NOW Well, although he did say, "of all time", you should know games beyond 10 years won't be here
I cant believe that you guys just created a best racing game list without mentioning MotorStorm or Mario Kart 8. Both games have been legendary in its own right together with Burnout.
Where's an F-Zero entry? Wipeout? NFS Heat over Unbound which was objectively better? Asphalt 8 one of the best racing games of all time? Come on now guys. Race Driver Grid, over any of the Colin McRae Rally games? Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 one of the BEST racers of all time? I mean, no comment at this point. Where's Flatout 1/2 or Wreckfest? Where's - there's just so many way better racers than several on this list it isn't even funny. But you know, opinion lists are opinions after all, subjective as hell.
With all due respect to Gaming Bolt which I casually view, this is a list with zero basis in Arcade or Sim racing history. When you say All-Time you've got to mean All-Time. No Outrun, No Outrunners, Outrun 2, F-Zero GX, Gran Turismo 1, 2 or 4, Burnout 3, Mario Kart 8, Sega Rally, Daytona 1 Or 2, Sonic Transformed. The list goes on if you understand the impact of games released over the past 25 to 35 years. Many of the games on this list simply do not have All-Time level impact in my opinion.

Been playing racing games on numerous systems for 40 years. For me it’s about haning fun and immersiveness before realism. Burnout takedown was the game which made me realise that. Revenge and Paradise are also brilliant. Oh for a next gen burnout!!

Good list. My issues: No F Zero GX. I’m guessing none of the people that compiled the list has played it. Because it’s easily a top 10 racer of all time and probably higher. Having NFS: Most Wanted not only on the list but that high and not having the superior 2012 version. Also not sure how you can put NFS Most Wanted on here and not have Burnout Paradise. BP was the superior open world racer. Other than that…good list. 😊
Most Wanted 2012 is terrible. Hot Pursuit 2010 was much better, Rivals was probably even better. Watch Whitelights original NFS video if you want to see some of the crippling core issues with NFS Most Wanted 2012.

That said i played Hot Pursuit too and liked Most Wanted better. I think i put just shy of 100 hours into Most Wanted and less than 50 in Hot Pursuit. To each their own. Burnout Paradise on the other hand i had well over 1000 on and still play it from time to time. BP absolute belongs on this list but Burnout purists simply hate the game because from what ive read repeatedly over the last 15 years, they don’t like open world racers and to them that “wasn’t burnout”.
@@danielward8645 I got what you were saying, I just think it’s very wrong. Most Wanted 2012 is dreadful, and much worse than the original. Burnout 3 > NFS Most Wanted 2005 > Burnout Paradise = NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 > NFS Most Wanted 2012 Most Wanted 2012 has physics and handling that doesn’t suit an open world city whatsoever. The physics and handling model was largely designed for Hot Pursuits windy highway roads. It doesn’t work in a pleasant way at all for sharp 90 degree turns in a city. Most Wanted 2012 as a result has incredibly unpleasant races where you spend far too long looking at the minimap (which is always a negative, watching a map is inherently worse than looking at the race and game world). The ambush events against police are also dreadfully balanced. The progression system is questionable too, with the ability to beat the game without doing a single hard race. The motivation/story is also shallow (climb to the top of the most wanted list, so that you’re a better racing criminal than the others). Burnout Paradise is disliked because of what burnout lost by going open world. Burnout Paradise is an excellent open world driving game, but the actual RACES are hurt a lot by having to regularly navigate and plan the minimap to work out where you should go. Burnout 3 has excellent fast paced edge of your seat racing. Burnout Paradise keeps disrupting that with (at best) minimap checks to see your next upcoming turn and (at worst) pausing the game to plan out the fastest route to the finish line.
At least one Dirt game should be on this list along with Mario Kart and Split/Second. Maybe Driver San Francisco, Motor Storm Pacific Rift and Modnation Racers.

This list is awful. It's less a list of the best racing games of all time and more like an ad for certain franchises. There's also really glaring omissions which makes me question the veracity of the entire effort. For example, The Crew: Motorfest & Need for Speed: Heat are on this list but Burnout 3: Takedown isn't? No F-Zero GX? No Wipeout HD: Fury? Ridge Racer 4? Out Run? Project Gotham Racing? There's so many all time GOAT games that were passed up in favor of mobile racing games (that are infested with free to play crap that hurt the gaming experience), and 2023 releases that are middling are best.
What the hell nfs has been terrible for years, most wanted was ok - but the steering was so shit. Underground 1&2 were the best in the series nothing impressive came since. Forza is very good sure (all of em), GT7 was ok best since GT3 but GT2 was and is the GOAT sim racer the depth for a ps1 game was amazing! Project Gotham prob the 4th is best should be there. Burnout revenge and mentioning paradise.. burnout 3 takedown is still probably the most fun arcade racer. Also I’m sure we can compare kart racers to sim racers, I think the crash bandicoot racers are great! But if we’re taking kart racers… it’s Mario kart 8 deluxe, without question. Hot wheels I picked it up cheap a couple years ago, was fun for like 15 minutes, the tracks were pretty much the same and it was too gimmicky in comparison with others… this is of course only my opinion - which I’m sure many would comment to disagree with me lol!
