Oh the Walmart keyboard, it was a challenge. The toughest upgrade of them all.

Yessss MORE upgradessssss
Yes
Can akko cs switch fit on outemu host swap?
if only I had a sweet tooth 😢
Ok
Looks great!! Thanks for showing off our Deep Sea keycaps 🌊👌🏻
Hi randomfrankp! Thx for making awesome videos. I didn’t know about the Keycaps but now I’m checking them out!
i like those key caps
yessir
Props for making these keycaps. They look sick! I noticed that the price actually goes down to $75 when adding to cart. Thanks for the discount!
Can you check out the hp omen 45L please. I am thinking of upgrading to it
Fun fact: switch pullers weren't made for switches. They were originally made to pull small cable connectors, like how it was used in the video at about 1:40.
Yes Finnaly a fun fact that doesn’t say “Fun fact: when someone comments fun fact everyone will have to will read it.”
@VAN RBX who actually cares
@VAN RBX bro, u play roblox and you care about someone’s spelling?
@VAN RBX never said I was but literally nobody cares if someone spells “Finally” wrong its just a word, you think your so smart but your very wrong

When you are trying to dessolder and the freaking pin does not want to get out, try soldering 😉, with a little more then needed. Clean the board to clear the flux with isopropyl alcohol. Then start dessolder again. Usually works.
I find I prefer leaving the flux on the board at least until I'm done with it. That way I already have flux applied when soldering the new switches.
ah yes, i totally understood hwat this says
Lmao i literally had the same experience since my first project into this rabbit hole was upgrading my 40$ fullsize "gaming keyboard" with cheap outemu brown switches. Desoldering was such a huge pain in the ass, since i had to use a iron sucker to suck out the desoldered iron.
I sure hope they didn't use "iron" to solder it lol. If they did I am really impressed with your soldering iron ^^
yoo the improvement on this is HELLA crazy! Good job and keep it up!
i used to use the game onn keyboard, very loud though it was actually very impressive with its reaction time
7/10 would recommend for clicky lovers
I had fun editing this video! Especially the part when you suffer lol. Also the keyboard look really sick.
Skills 😳
Great editing skills bro, your gonna go far :)
@@tart.iguess haha thanks!
@@SimplyVRMC thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!
Nice edit skills lol
1:25 nailed it
LOVE your vids, good edit style, good everything! Keep up the fire content! 🔥🔥
you should make your own switches and keyboards! you know so much about them and by watching your videos i’ve learned so much more about them!
0:42 I love the cat staring into my soul😂
You've probably gotten this advice already but in order to be RoHS compliant certain products will instead use lead-free solder, which is much harder to work with/desolder. This can be partially remedied by reflowing the joint with your own leaded solder on top of the preexisting solder.
You and Hipyotech have been my go to lately for entertainment, outside of doing typing practice lol! I actually do that while watching youtube...or playing runescape.
It is so relaxing, watching you work!!!
This was actually the first keyboard I ever owned
Same lol
Same lol

bro I only wish I can have those keyboards like they LOOK ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! and the sound when you type 100% SO SATISFYING
Looks great, sounds nice! I’m am very surprised! Thanks for the content!
Thanks for watching!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial i do not understand how easily you make my day better, thank you so much!
I love your vids. Thank you for lighting up my day whenever you post. Keep up the good work
Thank you 😊
On Amazon I bought a 60% hot swappable based on the AK61 for a whole $12.59 dollars. The keyboard came with pudding keycaps and outemu red switches. I ended up doing a lube job on the outemu switches and ended up doing mod on the stabilizers as well. Now the typing and the feel of the keys when pressed feels more like a $80 dollar keyboard from a known brand name.
Switch and click i like so much your work keep going
love the style of the keyboard!!
Can we all just LOVE the fact that she talks so calm and her voice is so satisfying, keep it up!, You have a new sub. 😃
😊 thank you
Congrats on 500k subs!!!
I just got my first mechanical keyboard last month (Logitech G413 TKL SE (not used to not having a 100%)) and now I just need to figure out how to take the keycaps off without a puller and see the stems so I know which replacement keycaps to buy for WASD and ESC, it's thanks to channels like yours, Hipyotech and Glarses that I caved and got even one like this cuz mechanical seemed easier to clean and repair since I type fairly violently
Turned out great! Love the clack
thanks!
my first mechanical keyboard was an outemu blue switch one and that was my first keyboard i modded with the mods in your video and it made it better especially the foam mod :D
loving your vids btw
funny thing is I have the exact keyboard 😅 I bought for 50 last month
if you hold fn+ the buttons above the arrow keys you can change the mode
Just watched in a while ago, I’m trying to mod mine and it’s so hard. Also congratulations on 500k
I think any full size keyboard that wasn't made by WallMart would've been easier to mod, even if it was full size.
Unless they are those Logitech ones that had the Romer-G switches
:D thanks for putting in all the effort to make these keyboards, it's really fun to watch
Glad you like them!
hey switch and click, that is the exact mechanical keyboard i first got in my life😃
love the edit, thanks for this amazing vid
Glad you enjoyed!
Congrats on 500k well deserved. 500k sub vid when???
That background is chef's kiss. Great Video as always Betty!
Oh thank you!
Great video! I did something similar on a cheap Amazon keyboard that turned out great. A tip for using the desoldering gun, make sure the lips of the tip are making good contact and completely seal the board. You can achieve this by holding it at 90 degrees to the board. Once that is done, wait about a half second, and pull the trigger, while rotating the tip around the pin in a circular motion. That'll clean up any extra solder that may be holding the leg in. Only spend about 3-4 seconds of applying heat to the joint at a time, else you can risk delaminating the board and causing the via to rip.
EDIT: oh yeah, and if you ever rip a via, don't sweat it. Get some thin 30AWG solid core wire, scrape the coating off what is left of the trace on the PCB, and solder to the copper of the trace. Then solder to your switch leg.
Pace Worldwide did an excellent video on PCB repair. Just substitute where they use copper clad or trace repair metal with the wire. ua-cam.com/video/IBi40aq4-t0/v-deo.html
I like wanted to buy a keyboard and know nothing about it , then I found your channel and know about custom keyboards 😅 , well thank you very much for the content .. and congrats on 500k 🎉🎉
Glad I could help & thank you!

Thank you! Will do!
I have a crush on your

Wow, thanks!
Wow. Just wow
The music at the part you take the keyboard apart really matches the situation-
another great video from another great youtuber!
My grandma bought me a keyboard on Walmart for like $43 dollars in a few months ago for playing Roblox and now i still use it but now it's for playing Minecraft on Xbox One. It is the Strategy of Monster Games. It have blue Chinese switches with no mark, and black ANSI keycaps, with a special letter that only Latin America and Spain have, the ñ. But it's painted onto the keycap, not engraved like the other keycaps. And haves RGB with a rainbow sequence, and you can choose how the RGB are going to move through the switches. 👀
Congrats on 500k!!! 🥳
Thank you!
Noice those keycaps my friend is SICK
wow your channel is growing fast, ive been here since 100k and now your at 500k

I had this exact keyboard 2 weeks ago. A week in, it started doing something weird on one of the rows and I couldn't fix it. I couldn't find help online, so I returned it and went to a BestBuy to pick up a HyperX Alloy Origins 65 with aqua switches that thock.
Great video!
Also good job on getting 500k!
Thanks!
I got this keyboard for wfh, i really love it. I enjoy the sound 😂 the feel, the wrist rest and the price. I recommend it if you're looking for a low budget option. It's great!
Great to hear!
@@SwitchandClickOfficial i know it's not the best, but it works great for me 😊❤️
im confused if i should buy the skyloong gk61 or royal kludge rk61, cuz they are both budget and 60%.
Thats funny. I have just done my first keyboard build ever after finding Hipyo Tech on YT. Didn't even know this was a thing. I say that to say, I bought a super cheap Eyooso board off Amazon and modded it. I used shelf liner too arbitrarily and have never seen anyone use that until now. I think it works really good with the tape mod and pbt keycaps. Sounds very nice.
ooh i love the spongebob 2000 years later voice line from you :)
Mogul Moves 🙌
LOVED THE VIDEO BETTY! Have a lovely night / day!
Thank you!
vinyl wrap your keebs case test video?
i’m trying it tonight with a q1 if i hate it i can peel it off :)
I’m about to get a tech ware phantom 87. I’m excited
The cats just chillin on the background
I used to use this keyboard but one day the wasd and arrows keys switched functions now I have my own custom built keyboard and I’m going to upgrade another soon
That Undyne / Spear of Justice theme in the intro, a woman of culture I see! Love your keeb videos, Betty!
Your my favourite UA-cam ever keep up the great work👍
Wow, thanks!
Had the same issue desoldering my razer keyboard. I used a a heatgun as I desoldered and they came right off
That sounds surprisingly good :D
your vids
never change lol
Congrats on 500k!
Thank you
Sounds deep even without tpu between pcb and switches
It looks awesome
I turned my volume up when you were clicking, IT BLEW MY EARS OFF
This was posted the day before my birthday. Cool
Great editing
It’s kinda obvious he isn’t enjoying those snacks
hey betty, i have a UK style hot-swap outemu keyboard. I have akko cs jelly blacks for it, but when i tried to swap out the enter key's switch, i realised that the stabs were ABOVE AND BELOW the switch, so the switch puller couldnt fit in the miniscule gap between the stabs and the switch. how do i change it? i **could** open up the board and remove it from the pcb but i really dont want to. if its my only option, i will.
Great video!
Also 6:10 nice cat
Thanks!
Love your vids keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
Hey switch and click it's my first time lubing switches and I have brown switches and it can get pretty loud so should I over lube or lube it a little bit
FINALLY ITS HERE!
I threw some layers of tape on the blackweb keyboard from walmart and it is definitely not mod friendly having to taking all the keys off to expose the screws. Made it a little quieter though so success.
The fact that the first ones where more satisfying
So my dad loves the clicky keyboards and I’m not surprised, imo it’s very nice, although the ASMR isn’t present, which is why I now love the clean sound. P.S: I think he still loves the clicky sounds
The keycaps are awesome!
Yes!! a new video!!!
Still asking for a review on the gmmk full modular
Awesome vid! Keep going
Thanks! Will do!
Omgggggg it’s amazing!
Please share some knowledge about keyboard PCB and their purchase.....
Hey for a video idea you could make the lightest keyboard possible when i say light i mean in weight, But either way great video
you liked the comment so youve seen it. what are your thoughts on the video idea its fine if you dont do it tho it is sort of garbadge
nice aquatic looking keyboard
The keyboard looks sick! Well done 👍
Thank you!
These were fun streams! This keyboard looks awesome.
Thank you!
Let's say you owned the ONN mechanical keyboard for a couple of years and really liked it: the RGB lighting, the clicky sounds, the feel of the keys, the solid heavy aluminum case, that it's full size, the braided cable, etc. However, let's say that random keys are not responding to normal pressure, and you're legally restricted from using a soldering iron because of what happened last time.
Let's also say that you were looking for something about double the price, so somewhere just under $100.
What mechanical keyboard would you recommend?
It's frustrating because a couple of the RGB lights have gotten messed up, and like I said I'll be going along and suddenly the "h" key won't work unless I press and hold it down... then it types half a dozen "hhhhhhh"s. Now that key is working again... will it be the "B" next time? A different key? The software also is buggy, with it occasionally losing its mind and making the "W" key a backspace key and other weird nonsense.
Hot swappable would be a bonus since I'm so incompetent with the soldering iron, but not a requirement. USB ports would also be a cool bonus but not make or break. I don't like wireless, I do like the clicky feel, I LOVE the RGB because my keyboard in on a drawer so often mostly or fully hidden from light. While I don't use the numberpad, I do use PrintScreen, delete, Home, arrow keys, and the F keys quite a bit.
Thoughts?
She just keeps getting better and better.
i modded up a razer blackwidow v3 and put it together just yesterday. the worst part is lubbing switches hands down. I have a manual sucker and get the switches changed. I'm planning to upgrade a Logitech board for a friend's son for his birthday....holy helly the rattle that come from that thing.

im fasting please stop lol
When walmart makes a tkl 👀
Btw, loved the vid.
I love your videos this video is dope
Thank you
Nice sound, kinda strange sound, beautiful keycaps
i have that exact keyboard i just bought it yesterday!

Hi long time fan of your content.
I had question and was wondering if the chalange of making an entire pcb from scratch and then doing this amazing custom builds you do can give birth to a very intresting keyboard. Make it your end game keyboard but you try to designe it from ground up
