  • Dublin's Culture Connects: 'Around the Table' project has been exploring the journey of food through Dublin, and its centrality to our lives, connecting to memory, culture, place and story. In this captivating film, Ann-Marie Lyons meets up with actor Mick Nolan in Dublin’s Victorian Fruit & Vegetable Market to catch up on old times and old neighbours in Greek St Flats just across the road. Ann-Marie has lived in the area all her life, while although born in Greek St flats, Mick moved out to Drimnagh with his family. Ann -Marie is a big part of the National Neighbourhood Project with The Snug Women’s Group who meet just around the corner in the Macro Centre. With her in the market the day the film was recorded was her daughter Lacy and her two grandchildren home from Australia for Christmas. They both shared their recipes for Coddle - Lacy’s version is a bit controversial, throwing things like celery into the mix to keep her Australian partner happy, but she does make sure to hunt down Irish rashers and sausages. The National Neighbourhood project is created in partnership with National Library of Ireland, Dublin City Public Libraries, Dublin City Arts Office. This Dublin's Culture Connects film is made by Peter Salisbury.
