30:35 it's worse because silent crying is a pretty big indicator of abuse. As someone who has also grown up abused, and tends to cry silently, I can tell you that when you grow up/live in an abusive situation, you learn to cry quietly, because letting them hear you cry tends to make things worse.

@@alakazamlover4908 I kind of got the impression that Moxxie remembers his mom leaving...but never figured out what happened to her afterwards. Given the scene on the boat, we see lil' Mox sort of recognize the masked imp, but he doesn't seem to make the connection before shoving the cinder block into the water.
I think Moxxie just blames his mom for abandoning him as a kid and never trying to contact him again, not knowing the reason why.

The "Hell has jail" things confused me too, but the I realized that they were stealing from Mammon specifically, who is pretty powerful and famous. He's also the demon of greed, so of course he wouldn't take stealing from him lightly.
I heard that there is a jail in the greed ring because “You’re allowed to do anything until you get caught”, so I actually can imagine imps going to jail for not the crime, but for getting caught, because I’m pretty sure no one is looking for them if they committed a crime but we’re lucky enough to get away

Even if they don't care about maintaining the quality of life/rule of law/whatever you want to call it stealing from the people in power is likely to get you punished regardless of where you are.
Also the prison industrial complex is pretty evil in itself it’s an embodiment of capitalistic greed so it makes sense that the Greed Ring would have prisons.

I just realized why Greed demons look like sharks, it is basically world play for "loan shark". When I realized that I just facepalmed.
I'm disappointed I didn't get the joke sooner, because I've seen the exact same joke used before.
That line Moxxie says in episode one, "'Maybe like a shitty dad... or a mob family. That's understandable." definitely hits a lot differently now. I love that we got to learn about Moxxie's past, but damn, his backstory really broke my heart. Crimson is without a doubt the most despicable character in the show's universe, yes, even worse than Valentino from Hazbin Hotel's "Addict" nusic video. Chaz really sucks too. I'm so happy Moxxie has Millie by his side because he deserves so much better than what he had for most of his life.

Quick notes: The horns aren't different by what ring they are from, the *rings* on the horns show if the imp is male or female, males have white horns with large black stripes, while female imps have black horns with thin white stripes.
Also, the horns next to that set of imp horns on the wall you were looking at? They had a candle with them as well, meaning those weren't imp horns at all! They were Baphomet horns, Baphomets are goat demons that we mostly seen in the ozzie's episode, as background characters. The only known characteristics about Baphomets is that they resemble goat demons, have imp-like horns, and have a single candle on their head and wings i believe?

The Greed Ring is capitalism, so the prison industrial complex, suburban hell mazes, scammy theme parks, industrial waste, loans sharks and the mob all make thematic sense. This includes Chaz being a selfish lover (Blitzø is literally screaming in discomfort) he’s greedy for the attention and admiration he brags about how many he’s slept with etc…
And Blitzø would definitely know a thing or two about being good in bed since he's from Lust
Yeah, it surprised me how many people who reacted to this episodes were shocked to see hell having prisons - they associate it with the abstract idea of justice rather than what they actually are realistically
@@a.c.1839 I mean, as a Scandinavian, I more-so associate prisons with rehabilitation... but upon giving it a second thought, I realized that whole thing about America and for-profit prisons, too, so, yeah, it does strike me as weird that so few Americans seem to catch on to that stuff, especially considering that they live surrounded by the crud.

Moxxie's mom didn't leave, his dad got rid of her. He either killed her before the scene on the boat or kept her alive until the scene on the boat, but I don't think she would have left without Moxxie. Either way, he didn't kill her because she left, he killed her because he couldn't control her, she was undermining his "parental practices".
Small detail I love, at 38:52 when Crimson throws the small shark at Millie, you can see Sushi parts fly back as Millie shreds it/him.

I think *Airier* might be misunderstanding Crimson a bit. It's Hell, but Crimson putting in effort was for his _own_ benefit, not Moxxie's. Like any deceiver, Crimson was just using shallow attempts to get Moxxie to comply.
I know YOU get it, but *Airier* I think missed that. He'll probably get it if/when he re-watches the episode a few more times.
yeah, half of the indication we get about how little Crimson cares about Moxie is with how little actual thought went into his efforts to be manipulative outside of just pure threats

The priest doesn’t have a cross, instead it seems to be a stylization of a star, almost as the idea of a priest of the morningstar, aka a priest of lucifer. Which is more fitting than the constant use of the inverse cross.

There's apparently a LOT of people who seem to think Moxxie's mom is alive, just because it didn't show her face. What they don't seem to understand is that we're seeing Moxxie's memories shown from his mind. He was so young, he wouldn't really remember what she looked like. Not only that, the sheer trauma most likely blocked it from his mind.
and showing a dead body and blood is usually unlike a mafia to do
they do it cleanly quickly and quietly so showing the body would not be a thing Crimson will do

I've heard "down to clown" before, a long time ago; although I don't recall it being exclusively a sexual thing. I always interpreted it as meaning "you in the mood to have fun/cause shenanigans?" kinda meaning. Either way I was expecting Blitzø to get turned off by the mention of clowning, due to his background, but I guess not lol

As much as I like the universe Vivzie built, her giving fairly important character information like that outside of the show is a bit frustrating.

Remember in the pilot the scenes where. Blitzo was watching moxxie sleep when he said I was dreaming my parents was getting murdered and I like to get back to that.
After thinking about it, Moxsie’s situation is somewhat like Octavia’s. Only child to a rich family, parents who are having horrible issues in the marriage, a narcissistic parent, the other parent who’s trying to leave much like how Stolace is trying to leave Stella and from Moxsie’s status as an only child, he’s probably Crim’s only heir. Mox’s past is more like Octavia’s only shot more from the point of view from a young child then from a family’s.

Well, Striker has the same Horn Form as Moxie, but has the Eyes of one of the Sharks, indicating hes a "Halfblood", aswell as the skintone of Moxies Mom, my guess ist, a Shark saved her, and they had a Child(Striker). So they might me half Brothers(Maybe furure Plotpoint?). Or its just my broken and pattern seeking Brain.
That is quite a mental stretch. Striker’s design is closer to a snake. I recall there even being hissing and rattling audio effects from Striker in that episode.

Yeah, its a very old term for it that has recently started to be used again, it actually sorta points to him likely being one to two generations (human world wise) newer than the father based on when that term was used in that way compared to the dad’s stylings. In particular down to clown used to mean to hang out, goof around, or have fun, but it evolved as did most of those terms over time.
The show has had a bit of the glow up. I think chazz shows it most, but there are some obvious influences in some design portions from a new rough animator on the team.

I love this episode but my only complaint is that we didn't Millie's backstory about how she met Chaz, since you know, he was most likely cheated on them at the same time and see how Blitz, Moxxie, and Millie met.
Vivzie just said wed be getting Millie episodes on Twitter, so I'm hoping we could see more chaz in the past and how their relationship came to be because I have no idea how he won her over 🤣🤣
@@PK-cg5ej I'm imagining a one-night stand sort of thing, with maybe a bit more in it that ended because of Chaz being...well, how we see him act, and Millie got sick of his behavior and dumped him, with maybe some "You'll never do better than me babe" stuff from him that only being with Moxxie has fixed. Like, if Millie had a tough hill to climb after she left the farm, and some bad relationships, including Chaz, that might be why she reacted so bad to bumping into him, he reminds her of the bad times, and then hearing how things went with Moxxie made it worse.
Apparently they were originally planning a scene with Millie's history with Chaz but it ended up getting cut (mix of time constraints and they felt it didn't quite fit in well with the rest of the episode).

@@Niskara That's what *I* said in one of my comments about him. That word gets thrown around a lot, but I genuinely think, from everything I know about it, that Crimson IS a genuine sociopath.
Paimon was actually trying somewhat, and thought he was doing a good job at being a father, at least he was mostly just negligent, holy hell(ha.) crimson tho, shiiiieet.
The only reason I'm not calling him the worst parent is because of Loona. Still a chance her pre-Blitzø parents might come up.

My personal not-at-all-serious headcanon for Loona's situation is that her mom was a one night stand for her womanizer father, her father raised her for a couple years, but then Loona finds out when he dumps her at the orphanage that he only kept her because she helped him get women, and once that stopped, he just left her there.

When you think about it it kind of makes sense that hell has a prison. Which is ironic considering hell is already a massive prison. But even some of the most chaotic places would still have some form of law regardless of how corrupt it is to maintain order considering the last thing you would want is lower class demons and imps from going out of control, or at least more out of control.

21:55 Blitz is all but confirmed to be pansexual- the biggest hint being the pansexual colors (magenta, gold, and light blue) were featured in his hallucination in episode 6: magenta while talking to Moxxie, blue covering Verosika, and gold when Stolas appears and when Blitz starts melting down. That sexuality certainly suits him, as much as he uses dirty language and fixates on sexual anatomy.

He set up Loo Loo Land and made the robot replicas of Fizz, but as the embodiment of greed, I wouldn't be surprised if Mammon owned *everything* in this Ring (be the ultimate capitalist- be the owner of all the business so that all the wealth and power goes to him).

Just a fun little thing I noticed that others have probably pointed out is that when Moxxie meets Blitzø, Blitzø mentions having a baby sitter. And we know he adopted Loona at 17. Love little throw away details like this.
In the mafia a made man might not necessarily be the guy running the show, but he would be expected to, at the minimum, be a lieutenant or capo. Especially since he’s apparently the son of a don. Family was very important in IRL mafias back in the day.
Also the person he pushed off the boat was likely his mother. Or the body his father pushed in. If you look at the shoe it’s way too clean for it to have been in there for long.

I forget who it was, but another UA-camr responding to this episode agrees that it's possible that Moxie's mom is alive. He proposed a theory that the shoe floating up was too clean compared to other debris floating there, as if it was just added. He theorized that the mom actually left or was driven away (if left on her own free will, I theorize she did so to save her own life and wasn't able to take her baby) He goes on to suggest the shoe was a spare that Crim planted on the guy he had his son push over so it would float up when pushed over, just to traumatize lil Moxie to teach him "a lesson not to cross him(me)"

I...don't think Moxxie knows what happened to his mother...certainly not what was implied in that scene with the boat, the cinder block...and the single shoe. We see he kind of recognizes the masked imp that's chained up, but being a kid he doesn't make the full connection.
I wonder if Moxxie just remembers his mom walking out on him and his father, never to return, and thought she just abandoned him.
The leg thing you noticed is significant. It seems to be something Wrathians have. Just by dress it looks like Mama Moxxie was a Wrathian and Crimson is a Greed imp. And Blitzø is a Pride imp, being both taller and having human-like legs. The Buckzo family apparently had the circus in Pride, which is how they so easily got to Paimon's mansion.
Crimson made Moxie throw the brick over the side of the boat that drowned his mom. If you look in the boat scene, the imp in the bag has had its horns cut off. At the end as the camera pans away from Chaz's jaw, a set of horns that match Moxie's Mom's are on the wall right next to it.

The thing about the person who moxie killed, their horns don't line up with the mother, their white lines were too thick, while the mothers were thin
The visual of hellhound collars mounted among bodily trophies of Crim's victims is rather unsettling. I haven't seen someone really mention that.

I don't think the mom left I think he killed her because she didn't do what he said. It kind of looks like the dad made Moxxie kill her. (I thought she was the person with the bag over their head).
It doesn't seem like he cares about anyone but himself.
I don't think she was the one wearing the "smiley face" sack, but she definitely was in the other bag revealed as Crimson had said that line about what happens when anybody crosses him.

if you notice the horns- ableit cut off- where thick and had a white ring at the base. The tail pattern and coloration as well as the build were all off. This was an unnamed male imp that moxie drowned.
If she did die its likely that the mom ran off with a lover and that male imp was her lover.
