Hi Ari, great advice ! We spent 3 months in Istanbul last year and loved it. The shoeshine brush thing happened to us ha ha ha ( we did pick it up but just kept walking ). Anyways, after being in Mexico for 10 months, we have decided to go back to Turkey and probably settle there. Not sure why we even left now. It’s a great base to then travel from. Your videos are really nice and informative, so thanks !
Hahaha it happens to the best of us 😆... your absolutely right , my old base was Bangkok for traveling within east Asia.... but turkey is my new base. Your very welcome. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
In Istanbul, some taxi drivers will rely on you not being familiar with the cash and tell you that you gave them a 20 instead of a 100 and then demand another 80. They will have a 20 on their seat to present as "proof". That being said, I love Turkey.
Do not mistreat stray animals. This rule is very important for most of us in our country. Also, the video quality has improved. Congratulations. I loved.

I have to laugh at your comment about confusing Turks with Arabs. If you want to see my husband get really really irritated ask him if he’s an Arab. You will get an earful. I’m wondering if the Istanbul drone situation is different if you’re a Turkish citizen. There is documentation for Turks to register their drones and I have read specifically that foreigners cannot do so. I think the DJI mini 2 still comes under the required weight however. How many subscribers are you up to? I don’t think you have it visible and you have such a great channel I hope it grows.
Hahaha typical reaction. And about drone... as of 2022 any drone unde 4kg (4000 grams) is unregulated... it cannot fly faster than 50km pr above 100m. My drone has been registered to DJI and automatically sets limits to speed and height.... so it stays within limits. But anything heavier or more advanced will need to be registered. And as of right now my channel is 890 subscribers strong... we are almost at the first 1000 ... I only have my subscribers such as yourself to thank.
It looks like you don't like Arabs. Arabs are not the same. There are different Arab countries. Arabs looks differents to each others even food, culture & weather are not the same. We live differents styles of life. Greetings from Oman!
Hey Ari, may i know if BiTaksi provides the option to choose the size of cars as we will be taking BiTaksi from the tram to our hotel in Istanbul. Thanks in advance.
Just WOW!!!! Amazing video and intro that would make any country look good!!ha ha. Jokes aside, I'm a Turkish woman living in Arizona and hesitating to go back to visit nowadays due to pandemic and political situation. However, I just admire the courage of foreigners (Canadians in particular are very adventurous!) and just dream with envy!! Kas is a great choice considering the season but there's a place that you'd absolutely love visiting guaranteed!!!..Not sure if you've already been to Efesus, but I'm sure you know that's a must, near Kusadasi and when you head out to that area, you can't miss Miletus, Priene and Temple of Apollo near Didim and Soke. They are all within 30 minutes distance from eachother but the best kept secret in that region coming from a Turk is called 'OLD Doganbey Village' (not the new )on the Dilek National Peninsula, with breathtaking views of Menderes Delta and absolutely a meditation point. At the entrance, you'll see a big building which is the old school transformed into a visitor center/ museum. Walk around the streets of historic stone village all the way up. You can even hike to a waterfall with breathtaking views. Not sure if there are any B&B's available but back in 2012, I stayed in one of my cousin's stone house, who by the way was also a Canadian citizen living in Toronto. Hope you can make it and it would be a great episode guaranteed!
Hi Ari, helpful video. Just want to ask regarding drone is there any restrictions bringing drone to turkey? Do you need a permit for it. We are going to Turkey next month and I am planning to bring my drone. Thanks.
Hi , Drones are fine but they have to be less than 500g . Larger ones need to be registered. My drone Is just at about 500g I never had an issue with authoritiesor at airports. Keep batteries in your carry on for safety.. don't fly in istanbul. You'll be fine everywhere else. Be mindful of air traffic and stay away from military zones. Hope that helps
Thank you very much for your reply Ari that was helpful. I guess I wont be able to bring my drone as it is more than 500g. The restrictions in Turkey is much the same here in UK.

Stay away from Turkey in the I mediate, things are not going good economically, when a nation puts locks on milk and cheese products you can only understand what is going on. Wait at least a few years and hopefully conditions improve to resume visits.
You should not say so, indeed. Well-connected Greek diasporas in the West (especially in the U.S. and Canada) marketed lots of Turkish dishes as their own. They just gave Greek names to them and spread the lies that they belong to Greece actually. And this is what drives us we Turks mad. This basically amounts to usurping Turkish culture and cuisine. They even renamed the world-famous Turkish coffee as "Greek coffee" and this is pathetic and sad. Greeks being Christians, their decades-long cultural misappropriation was welcomed by their coreligionists. Recently, they even owned "döner" (the word "döner" comes from the Turkish root verb "dönmek/to rotate", alluding to the rotation of the skewer on which meat is stacked) and gave it the name "gyro", hinting at the rotational movement of döner. Now this is a prime example of CRINGE!
@@Kenan-Z I knew about the coffee. They even have their own cezve but they call it something else. I was gobsmacked as I have had Turkish coffee many times. I thought it was all down to the extent of the Ottoman empire and its influence - like the surrounding countries having their own versions of köfte and börek. They don't have their own Ajda Pekan tho 🤣
@@davidclinghamable Ha ha...They don't have Sezen Aksu, either ;-) I see that you are well versed in Turkish culture ("cezve" giving an infallible clue). Do you live in Türkiye? Serbians, Bosnians, Blugarians, Macedonians and Roumanians also cook their versions of Turkish dishes (köfte, börek, various types of "dolma and sarma) yet they do not pretend to owning them, they do not usurp our cuisine. But Greeks are a totally different story overall. One of the few things universally known by its Turkish name is "yoğurt." It was first made by pre--Islamic, nomadic Turks and is rightfully a part of Turkish culture. But people in the U.S. and Canada have to say "Greek yogurt" when referring to the classical Turkish yogurt; that sour, un-sweetened old-school yoğurt. This is also sad and maddening at the same time.
@@Kenan-Z I was married to a Turk for 9 years so I have had some exposure to Turkish culture. Luckily Sezen did not write any of her songs in Greek to try and boost her sales. You are right about the foods being found in other areas, a great pity as Turkish cuisine is quite distinct. Oh well there isn't much we can do about it. Have you seen the Refikanin mutfağı channel? She wisely avoids the great debate
Do not smoke hashish guys to backpackers or you will end up like the guy in midnight express or the last midnight train in a turkish prison t It will break you 🙏
1. Phonetically Turkic Languages doesn't share similar intonations with Arabic. We are in Ural-Altai linguistic family. Arabs have Semitic language. Also, our life style, culture and world wiev are so different from them. Religion? All Christians are Mormons? 2. Also geographically, Any Turkic country is NOT in the middle east. Middle east is technically, south of Mediterranean between north of Sub-saharan. There is not any geography teacher in your country?

Your so handsome 😍
🙈💩
Iam the only jew in my hotel but iam okay people especially women and people in general are very nice they would give their heart a jewelry if you like it off their neck to give it to you I have never seen this before iam wearing a tree of life my nurse gave me I said no I can't at the end I gave her 50 tl which is nothing she was so nice
Turkish people are so giving... they always offer me stuff for free but I always pay them 😆
Stay away from Turkey in the I mediate, things are not going good economically, when a nation puts locks on milk and cheese products you can only understand what is going on. Wait at least a few years and hopefully conditions improve to resume visits.
Don't say "Oh but that's a Greek dish!"
Unless you want to start a war hahaha 🤣🤪🙏
She wisely avoids the great debate
i kicked so many cats in antalya
Do not smoke hashish guys to backpackers or you will end up like the guy in midnight express or the last midnight train in a turkish prison t
It will break you 🙏
Great advice... 🙏👌
Really long and unnecessary intro
Very informative thank you.🙏🙌🧿
