There's a hadeeth that the prophet ﷺ makes 3 duaa's to Allah, Allah accepts 2, but rejects the third. The third that was rejected was that the ummah is to be united.

Salam brother, I know it can be depressing to see Muslims differ on issues that aren’t fundamental most of the time. However, we cannot lose hope. We must remain optimistic and work towards uniting the ummah on common grounds and matters that truly matter. I believe we can achieve this, inshaAllah. Although it may seem far-fetched right now, I genuinely believe that individuals like you can create change by fostering strong brotherhood in your community, and you will serve as an inspiration. Muslims, especially the youth, are seeking strong community and leadership. I believe that when they see this, they will gravitate towards it, and the negative trends on social media will be sidelined by Allah’s permission.

Jan you make so much sense. In my opinion anyone who says and believes ‘la illah a illahla, Mohammadan rasulilah’ is a Moslem. Yes there will always be political differences & in my humble opinion the Sunni position from an aqeeda perspective probably makes more sense, but there must be unity in the Ummah against depraved and genocidal slaughter and against those that assist it or turn a blind eye to it. If Christians and Jewish states and entities can politically unite to protect each other despite being morally bankrupt, surely Moslem states and individuals must do the same or be called out? I do point the finger more at my own Sunni community. Where I live there are 2 Sunni Masjids very close to each other and they call each other ‘Kafir’😢 Also, when I read about the tragedy of Karbala and the martyrdom of Hussain Ibn Ali (the Prophets grandson) less than 100 years offer the demise of the Prophet himself (PBUH), I do wonder why it’s only referenced as a small footnote in our history?

The biggest problem is that a lot of Muslims put every non-Muslim in the same basket and call every non-Muslim a kafir, when that statement isn't even correct at all. We have to keep in mind there are honorable non-Muslims who protected Muslims in hostile environments like the persecution of Rohinya's and the Bosnian War. The Serbs and Bosniaks of Baljvine promised to protect eachother from hostile "četniks" and "ustasha". Srđan Aleksić protected his Muslim neigbor from harrasing soldiers. Buddhist monks offering shelter to Burmese Muslims. I prefer to be in the same ummah with goodwilling Christians and Hindus rather than takfirist intolerant radicals who live in a stone age mentality. Not only them but a majority of Muslims live like that.
i have a concern that this sort of infighting is a means for the enemy to propogate division in the ummah. As it stands we have the 90-10 split of shia and sunni which is managable, but by introducing this new element of sunnis who are by default tolerant of shia vs sunnis who by default warn against them we are creating a new fracture and pushing that split closer towards a means of divide and conquer. This is a new wrinkle compared to the philosphical clashes we are familiar with. This is about the opinions we think our brothers and sisters should hold about other groups, rather than the opinions they themselves hold. Adding a new layer of strife we dont need Allahu allam.

It's easy enough to see which people make videos to 'refute' others for clout and views..under the guise of guiding. Most Ulema and learned people are not on youtube or social media..the sad fact is most people take their deen from online figures..more like preachers and influencers.
You can always conclude that "this sect is wrong" or "that practice has no validity" but as long as someone says hes a muslim (declare it) and use the Quran. Im ok with them.
Although I feel like that particular refutation may have been necessary you’re definitely right about polemical brain being a disease. 90% of the Islamic content people should be watching are people teaching the Deen holistically and 10% or less would be for polemics, but for most people it’s in reverse. When the prophet was asked what to tell trinitarians, he instructed to tell them to worship the creator. Nothing about Aqeedah, Having said that, I'm not sure how releasing this video helps. Thank you Jan for this video, and I don't have the right to judge these brothers intentions and as a muslim I would like to believe that they have good intentions, but is it the right time to make these refutation videos? While muslims here in the eastern and southern parts of the world are struggling! Sometimes I feel that these muslims in the west are living in a different world, and this is really sad, we are looking at these brothers living in free countries as a way to express our voices and thoughts, to give advice freely to other muslims, to show us that they are united in these free countries -not under the influence and control of dictators- then seeing them fight and discuss irrelevant issues is heartbreaking.
There was always heated disagreement then and now. There an authentic hadith that speaks on 73 sects and all but one will go hellfire. Correct Aqeedah is key finding paradise which is al our goals. I think clarifying the muslim creed and articles of faith is really important. It will strengthen the muslim's faith and safeguard them from fitnah(tribulations) But I totally agree with you that these refutations need to slow down. It's becoming more like youtube beefs, and personal gain will inevitably start to be part of it. I don't agree that "you have to be on your own" because you need guidance and clarifications almost constantly. I would say stick to the scholars who are known for their knowledge. But try to stop watching Dawah UA-camrs because the vast majority of them are far away from being scholars. At leasts don't watch their fighting videos. For 2 reasons, 1) it might confuse you 2) it would eventually stiffen your soul and lessen the spiritual aspect of islam in your heart. Islam will all be about refuting others and exposing frauds and whatnot. Which is not the path the prophet peace be upon him and his companions paved for us. May Allah guide us all to the right path.
Knowledgeable scholars like The scholars that existed 100s of years ago. Like the 4 great imams, ibnu taymia, ibnul qayim, ibnu hajar, al nawawi, al thahabi, and many more. Modern-day scholars like Al albani, Ibnu Uthaimeen, Ibnu baz, Salih Al fawzan, Abu Ishaq Al huwaini, and many more. Also, listen to those with knowledge and know most people agree on their goodness, like shiekh Asim Al hakim, Shiekh karim abu zaid, shiekh Bilal Philips. Im not saying our dawah youtubers are bad people or lack knowledge to give dawah. No, but just to save yourself from confusion.

There's a hadeeth that the prophet ﷺ makes 3 duaa's to Allah, Allah accepts 2, but rejects the third. The third that was rejected was that the ummah is to be united.

The biggest problem is that a lot of Muslims put every non-Muslim in the same basket and call every non-Muslim a kafir, when that statement isn't even correct at all.

i have a concern that this sort of infighting is a means for the enemy to propogate division in the ummah. As it stands we have the 90-10 split of shia and sunni which is managable, but by introducing this new element of sunnis who are by default tolerant of shia vs sunnis who by default warn against them we are creating a new fracture and pushing that split closer towards a means of divide and conquer.
This is a new wrinkle compared to the philosphical clashes we are familiar with. This is about the opinions we think our brothers and sisters should hold about other groups, rather than the opinions they themselves hold. Adding a new layer of strife we dont need Allahu allam.

Thank you Jan for this video, and I don't have the right to judge these brothers intentions and as a muslim I would like to believe that they have good intentions, but is it the right time to make these refutation videos? While muslims here in the eastern and southern parts of the world are struggling! Sometimes I feel that these muslims in the west are living in a different world, and this is really sad, we are looking at these brothers living in free countries as a way to express our voices and thoughts, to give advice freely to other muslims, to show us that they are united in these free countries -not under the influence and control of dictators- then seeing them fight and discuss irrelevant issues is heartbreaking.
There was always heated disagreement then and now. There an authentic hadith that speaks on 73 sects and all but one will go hellfire. Correct Aqeedah is key finding paradise which is al our goals. At leasts don't watch their fighting videos. For 2 reasons, 1) it might confuse you
2) it would eventually stiffen your soul and lessen the spiritual aspect of islam in your heart. Islam will all be about refuting others and exposing frauds and whatnot. Which is not the path the prophet peace be upon him and his companions paved for us.

Modern-day scholars like Al albani, Ibnu Uthaimeen, Ibnu baz, Salih Al fawzan, Abu Ishaq Al huwaini, and many more.
Also, listen to those with knowledge and know most people agree on their goodness, like shiekh Asim Al hakim, Shiekh karim abu zaid, shiekh Bilal Philips.
