Very informative. I am about to have a third series of Euflexa injections. The first series lasted 5 1/2 months, which got me through ski season. The second series lasted about 4 1/2 months. Aleve 2x day helps alleviate pain but when I have been much more active which increases pain, prednisone, 20 to 40 mg for only 1 day helps significantly. Climbing up ladders to clean gutters or on the WWII ship where I volunteer and standing on the steel deck is especially painful. I am thinking toward total knee replacement(s), this seminar has been very helpful to me. Thank you.
Excellent presentation, very informative. Discussion of symptoms and treatment, very useful. very clear discription of the the pathology and partial and total replacement surgery. Thank you
Nice presentation doc. I went to the hospital for my knee. I was told to go in for x- ray and lab test. I was asked to send the x- ray to a radiologist to comment. It came out that the femoral condyles, tibia plateau and patella are normal. Also the knee joint space is normal, there is no fracture or dislocation and the surrounding soft tissues are normal. Doctor, please what do I do. The knee is swollen, I feel pains, and stiffness. Help me
What kind of braces are good to help support the knee some comfort if any I had both of my knees examined by Kaiser emailed me the results and I have arthritis in the knees and some pockets that they were talking about that were empty I'm in a lot of pain right leg bone calf hurts every now

At age 82 should i seriously consider knee replacement surgery which my orthopedic surgeon is recommending. My bad knee has a torn ACL and Meniscus from 2015 which i have not been willing to have repaired.Since then i have been able to perform pretty rigorous exercise which didnt require lateral movement. I do have bone on bone arthritis and because i am in good shape and good health for my age, my Orthopod feels we should replace the knee and discontinue the past efforts to contain the knee pain and disability while i am still in the condition to be a good surgery candidate. Unfortunately, he also advised me that i need both hips replaced! He has been my surgeon for 8 years and is very conservative but feels i am now at the now or never point to consider surgery. I trust him completely but dont know what to do. I am very athletic and youthful for my age and dont want to give up my mobility etc.

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can indicate high body fatness. BMI screens for weight categories that may lead to health problems, but it does not diagnose the body fatness or health of an individual.
