Persian Saffron Rice Pudding (Sholeh Zard)

- Sholeh Zard is a delicious Persian saffron rice pudding that's perfect for any occasion.
Here's a simple recipe to get you started:
1 cup basmati rice
6 cups water
2 cup sugar ( if you want less sugar adjust it)
1/4 teaspoon saffron threads
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1 tablespoon rosewater
1 tablespoon butter
Almonds Flacks , for garnish ( you can use it in it as well)
Ground cinnamon, for garnish
*Prepare the saffron: Grind the saffron threads and steep them in a small amount of hot water until the color is released.
*Wash the rice: Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear.
*Cook the rice: In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the rice and salt, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender but not mushy.
*Add the sugar and spices: Stir in the sugar, saffron water, cardamom, and rosewater. Cook for a few more minutes, or until the sugar has dissolved.
Add the butter: Stir in the butter until it melts and coats the rice.
*Let it cool: Remove the pot from the heat and let the sholeh zard cool slightly.
Serve: Garnish with slivered almonds and ground cinnamon.
