Are DEPO Headlights a Worthy Upgrade Over Stock?

Today is a good one - an install & compare on a couple sets of DEPO headlights for the E39 and E46 BMWs! Can you pull off a cheaper aftermarket solution on these distinguished cars? Or is OEM the only way to go?
