Thank you! I appreciate that. I try to make sure every single detail from start to finish is covered in each of my videos. As an IT professional, one of the things I learned to do, was after I built a system for end users, I would shut one of their (not currently being used) computers completely off. Then I would write the instruction documentation from the power on step, and every step afterwards. Too often technical people take for granted information that they know, which others don't know. It is important for us to not assume anything. Our work is supposed to make life easier for others, not harder :)

I am dual booting mac os and windows on my MacBook pro with touch bar.
Since having touchbar replaces physical Fkeys how do i get into onetime boot menu without pressing f12 key.

Hi, and thank you for watching. I have personally not done this, but it appears that you just hold the Fn key down until the F buttons appear on the touch bar.
      From support.apple.com:
      Show the function keys
Press and hold the Fn (Function) key on your keyboard to see F1 through F12 in the Touch Bar.
You can also make the function keys appear automatically when you use specific apps:
Choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Keyboard.
Click Shortcuts at the top of the window, then select Function Keys from the list on the left.
Click the add button (+), then select an app and click Add. For each app that you add, the function keys will automatically appear in the Touch Bar whenever you're using that app.

Dude, if we use this bypass method then what are the demerits or disadvantages of this method?
And what is the impact of this on my laptop?

I'm not a security expert, but I would say this:
If you're not using it in a production environment that needs to be highly secure on a regular basis, you'll be fine. Windows 10 does not require TPM 2.0, is still very secure, and is the most common OS in the world right now. If it is a business production computer, then I would buy a new computer that supports TPM 2.0, and use your current computer as a backup or leisure computer.
As far as impacts on the laptop itself, there are none. The hardware is unchanged. Bypassing the TPM requirement is only a modification of the software requirements, of the hardware.
And finally, with all this said, you may be able to install a 3rd party TPM chip inside the laptop, or get a USB one, if you want to abide by the requirements. Personally, I'm just running without TPM 2.0 support. When I do get a new laptop, I'll make sure it supports TPM 2.0 and reinstall the OS without bypassing the requirement at that time.

I'm noticing my TPM after clicking win/r "TPM.msc" says there is none. Is there a download for this? I've had my computer for only 10 months, and never saw this "SRMN" message before. Must have come on an auto notification download which I had turned off. I've already reinstalled Win 11 (earlier), and I don't want to re-install it again because I lost all my passwords and it's a real pain.

Hi, and thank you for watching. A TPM chip is a physical chip inside the computer, but there is firmware for it that can be downloaded, IF a physical chip is present. It's possible that you have one, but it's turned off in the system BIOS, and it is also possible that the computer doesn't have a TPM chip at all. You can check this by going into the BIOS and looking under "security". I demonstrate how to look for a TPM chip, and turn it on and off in the BIOS in this video, at 26:22:
      ua-cam.com/video/O53zJLFtpXg/v-deo.html
If you do have a TPM chip, and have turned it on, it should already have TPM firmware version 2.0 on it if the computer is only 10 months old. But if it doesn't, you can get 2.0 firmware for it, directly from the manufacturer of the computer's website. All manufacturers have drivers and other software that can be downloaded for their computers, directly from them. Always get "drivers" and other system downloads, directly from the manufacturer. 3rd party drivers and downloads and notorious for malware.
Also, if you already running windows 11, then you've gotten past the TPM issue anyway, but if you have a TPM chip, I would definitely turn it on in the BIOS so you can use it, and I would also set up Bitlocker drive encryption to make sure your data is safe if the computer is ever lost or stolen. I demonstrate setting up and using Bitlocker in this video as well:
      ua-cam.com/video/J9O3eCnGIJI/v-deo.html
      I hope this helps...

Thanks for the help. I found a page on UA-cam with an AMD chipset and Gigabyte Bios and TPM was "disabled". Turned it on, and it removed the SRMN notice in the lower right hand corner of the desktop. My previous computer was a Windows 7 from 2011, that became unusable because it was so slow. Really disappointing that in 10 years, Windows is still pretty bugged and these automatic downloads seem to do more harm than good. My last notification download gave me the unable to load page because of a "DNS domain error" or something like that. Even pages I use every day. Had to go into the DNS IP reconfigure to fix it. Pretty awful.

P.S. I hate solutions that have me go into the registry to make changes. There are so many lines and I'm old so I'll never remember where it was. But I did have to change Windows 11 again, because they kept putting my photo downloads in .jfif, instead of .jpeg. WTH?
