- Israel's 50-year military rule in Palestine has led to questions about the conduct of some Israeli soldiers. Around 12-hundred former soldiers have formed an organisation and testified about violent methods used against Palestinians. It's called "Breaking the Silence" and TRT World's Iolo ap Dafydd spoke to some of them.

It takes a lot of courage to admit your wrongdoings and speak out against it.

My country the Philippines gave safe haven to 1000 Jews fleeing the war in Europe in the 1940s. Now I join my voice no matter how small to those asking for compassion for Palestinians. They have a right to live and be treated like human beings. We knew what it's like to be ruled and occupied by hostile invaders. My heart goes out to any people in the world denied of basic human rights.

You would have to look at the history of that region from at least 2000 year's ago & work your way up to 1947...pause & consider the multiple owners (Empires) that ruled over that region and the history of mankind how we control or take over a region.

What is beautiful about this is it’s universal! We must find a point of commonality, of oneness, that transcends even humanity. At the root of all of this is a deeply spiritual, problem. Not religious, but spiritual! The essence is spirit. We are all within a conscious field, & the awake being shining a light within all of us. Transcend what the demagogues and warmongers want us to be.
We should all be ambassadors of the truth & peace.
The motto should be, ONE UNIVERSE ONE PEOPLE This is an operative philosophy and it’s ancient.
If we dont learn this and continue the cycle of hatred, revenge & separation, then we ALL will suffer its consequences. Period.

Therefore the children of Israel get punished:

They aren’t the only soldiers that have come forward as there are plenty of other videos of ex IDF or some refusing to join the army. Some have committed suicide and have depression. Day in and day out having these young kids forced to mandatory army.

He refused to go the easy route offered to him by the reporter, by saying he only did what he was ordered. His ackowledgement of his own agency in the army and his condemnation of his own acts is so brave and paves the way for others to accept their pasts while determining a different future.
