I really enjoyed the original version. It was oddly unsetling and I guess that's a huge compliment for a horror movie.
The same killer from 1946 is back killing again in 2013? Did he break out of a geriatric home and chase people very slowly on a walker? Ha, ha. Thanks for the review! Sounds like a Netflix rental to me. Very excited for the Blu-Ray release of the original film, though. Haven't seen it in a really long time.
So eerie to think about. So many uncaptured and brought to justice, basically disappeared into the ether. The Zodiac Killer, for instance. That one really causes a shiver up my spine. I don't what the potential is for him to still be alive at this point, but the thought is certainly fuel for nightmares.
Man that's a bummer :( I was hoping this movie would knock it out of the park.

In the beginning when the guy and girl are in the car and he just dissmiss him as some perv isn't that because he is in on it and he didnt drive off cause they needed to fake his death? I thought that whole thing was a set up to fake his death and so the girl could tell everyone that the phantom killer is back.
masterofthefresh I found it more difficult to believe that SHE was okay with his writing off the killer as just a peeping tom and didn't insist that they leave immediately.

Just watched the original on Netflix last week and was impressed, I think I am going to hold off on the remake for awhile

Great review sir! Considering how cool the first film is it is very disappointing to hear that this one is that big of a let down, but I guest it really shouldn't be that big of a surprise. lol

The only way the gay scene would have been out of place for me is if it was too graphic,why was it for you Piz?
It didn't really feel out of place to me. It was just so poorly written and exectuted. I guess they were trying to be edgy or provocative, maybe intentionally uncomfortable...I have no idea. It comes off very awkward.

It was an ok movie. Couldve have been a lot better.
Nice Review...i was looking forward to this quite a bit. I managed to see it a few days ago and I have to agree, it was a major letdown as the original is an underrated gem. The opportunity was there to create a classic, it just didn't happen.
