Quick question rick how is it possible under rga that your able to revoke your PGA Pro status to play as an amature ? Its litteraly impossible if you want to keep your status.
Very honest! Absolutely amazing what you've done with your golf career with a handicap of something above scratch. Changed the game completely and I think inspired many people to believe there's a career in golf without making it to a tour. So cool and the fact you aren't off +5 of something just makes everything more relatable to the viewer!
The guy who says he is scratch and barely breaks 80 vs a guy who says he is 4.6 and can shoot around par often will be your better golfer. Kudos RS. I've been watching your videos since the begining. Keep up the great work.
I think that is a really fair assessment of Rick's game. Like a lot of us we only play social golf once a month but if we had time to play more the handicap would be much lower.
Watched your golf for years. You don't play enough regular golf to get your "feel" in, however on a lot of courses in Manchester eg Ashton-Under-Lyne, off the whites, your long driving on its own would be a huge help. I think after a few rounds of course familiarization (which plays a HUGE part in club golf handicaps) you would easily play off 1 or 2.
Handicaps are not BS, but they’re... variable, based on the course(s) you play matched with your skill set. I predominantly play 2 courses throughout the year... one northeast and one southeast. Up north, I’m a 6. Down south, at least a 10. Same guy, same skill set, not milking the cap to sandbag anyone... it’s just a matchup thing.

With the new World Handicap System, Professional golfers can obtain a Handicap Index. It would be interesting to see what handicap index all the UA-cam Pro's would have...
I’m curious as to why you turned pro at a 3 handicap? What were the benefits to you at that handicap of turning pro considering you loose your playing rights in weekend comps etc? You’re wrong with the once you turn pro you lose your handicap. Many tour pros still pros still play in local comps when back home. Marc Leishman is one that always has a comp round when back home. @@j2martnz348 i play with scatch, 1 hcap and a +2, and hes certainly on par with the +2. Most of our top club amaeteurs in northumberland are plus 3 or 4, .if your stating hes not, i wouldnt play Rick in a money match, with no shots
@@dogwood1963 Why would I play him with NO shots!? That has zero relevance to this argument. I'm a 5 ... I'll play him getting 8 shots all day . That's no knock on him .
I honestly think Rick would play no worse than a 2 handicap. With the new system using your 8 best scores out of 20 I can’t see Rick being incapable of shooting 74/75 40% of the time. Dude is just being modest.
And yet The Commander in Cheat is a 2.8. Right..
He's a scratch easily
How can you go pro off 3? Thats almost laughable, this guy is not a pro.
5 handicap no way. I would have though scratch or better.
You’re wrong with the once you turn pro you lose your handicap. Many tour pros still pros still play in local comps when back home.
Marc Leishman is one that always has a comp round when back home.
We have a player at our local club who has a card on the Asian tour who plays in our club comps every time he’s home. His handicap is +2.9.
When you turn pro you have to give up your amateur status which in turn, means you give up your handicap. If pros clubs want to facilitate the pro they can give them a estimate handicap, but this is not a real handicap and cannot he validated in qualifier competitions.
Once again though, that handicap is not real or legitimate in any way.
Wrong.
The handicap is still the top 8 scores in the last 20 local comp rounds. Professional rounds aren’t included.
I’ve got his handicap details on an app and watch it
Australian Sporting Photos A handicap is for amateurs to play against amateurs using handicap. A professional cannot have a real handicap.
Australian Sporting Photos A professional cannot play in amateur events legally either.
What I see on this channel, no way are you 4 or 5. 1 or 2 I reckon.... I play off 2 and think I would struggle to beat you...
i bet he was 3 when he turned pro..but was that a lying 3 and was that on an easy course? so was it really an 7? i think so..meanwhile we have amateurs that play off +3..tour players are more like +6...if the standard is scratch..how can he claim to be a pro..like ringing a plumber and him saying well i lack in certain things
Stop being humble you know it’s scratch lol
