The term sexual assault is a very broad term. It can be anything from actual rape to crude inappropriate comments so you have to be more specific. Let’s just say you have an 18 year old & a 16 year old that are dating & they have consensual sex. In some states that is statutory rape, who’s also sexual assault. Are you seriously saying that the 18 year old n that case should spend the rest of their lives in prison? There’s a huge difference between someone who committed a violent act & someone who didn’t that falls under the broad umbrella of sexual assault.
It also depends on which state all have different laws I do agree rapists get a couple years in prison get out rape again back to prison repeat until laws change
The Mentality of a Violent Criminal, only increases after serving time in Prison. A True Criminal Mind, does not change for the betterment of Society. They change for the betterment of trying not to get caught again. YES... IT IS THAT SIMPLE... Please keep these episodes coming. So many of the newcomers who are making this sort of genre are using AI dialogue and I find it absolutely unlistenable, and turn it off straight away. Some are narrated by people whose voices are are truly awful, squeaky or monotone. A big part of the success of ‘New Detectives’ is the narrator, his voice is perfect.

Well, the Atif Rafay/Sebastian Burns story happened in Bellevue, and some other "cold case forensic files" stories have featured Bellevue, and my GOODNESS, that hits SO close to home for me!

Well, it turns out, from 1984-2001, Marie Malvar's body had been dumped off a STEEP ravine, literally 2 miles from my church! I first took notice of Marie Malvar in 1991 when I was 18, and during those "fun years with the church youth group," Marie's body was hidden 2 miles away! As part of Gary Ridgway's plea deal, he had to reveal the locations of where he dumped some of those bodies.

If the gun shot were self-inflicted, the gun would still be in her hand. The body grabs really tight upon gunshot suicide, and then 99% of cases where the fatal wound was self-inflicted and deaths was instantaneous. The gun was left in the hand of the victims.

the way they present the cases was horrible. they jump around several cases, explaining the way the victim went missing, then they jump right to another case. it is the predominant reason these shows never got popular. they shouldve covered a case, then moved on to another, because this format is whack
