Thanks for going through it! Secured my decision to get the book! As for models, yea sadly 3D print/proxies is the way to go. Thanks to one company I have a complete Numinor army Rivendell and Gondor army for a fraction of the cost.
Great review! I agree the story of Earnur is one of the coolest of the lore: it's got Glorfindel, Rangers, the King of Gondor, the Witch King, and hobbits! But I think you should do Aragorn's revenge first, the special deployment for the evil side is really innovative.
I think this book must have gotten delayed, it probably was supposed to come out with the newer Witch-king and Glorfindel models. ForgeWorld stuff is just so expensive, especially with the number of Carn-dum warriors you need for the campaign. It's a shame, but the new models are appealing, the old models are back, the scenarios look a lot of fun (which you can continue to do at any non-GW games), the abilities feel lore accurate, and they will all be around for the new edition! Plus, it's about time Arnor and Angmar got new content! - Angmar feels fully fleshed out now. The only thing could be to bring back the metal Mordor orcs to use as Angmar orcs, differentiating them. - Arnor is getting there, I would just want to see some warrior and knight variants with swords and bows, royal guards, models for the Last Prince of Cardolan, Argeleb and Arveleg and artillery. The old Ruin of Arnor book (which you should definitely read into) had some great unit ideas like Royal Hunters (replaces Arnor Rangers), Guards of the Palace, and Wardens of the East Gate. - For the Rangers, actual mounted and sword-wielding versions as mentioned would be great. They had a bunch of fitting name options for them in the Ruin of Arnor, and could be taken as heroes. That's about it, so I can't wait to see people getting their hands on this stuff!
Highly recommend you guys and anyone watching getting a book called “ the complete Tolkien companion” by J.E.A. Tyler, it’ll knock your socks off and you can thank me later 😅
With all the talk of another new Rulebook & Rise of Angmar coming.... Are there any books you suggest staying away from??? I've only played a game or 2 so far, but have recently bought a revised Rulebook (& now expecting to buy a re-revised Rulebook). I also have the Battle Companies, Hobbit Armies & Lord of the Rings Armies. But I'm always keeping an eye out for a deal on Defense of the North, etc. But now I'm concerned about buying ANYTHING. I expect to now be $150 USD into the Rules. And as I understand it, Pretty much ALL of the rest of my books will be trash? Thoughts???
@@TTAlliance yes but in this case, because buying a book that is allmost right away obsolete is not many people do, you should think they release them right away.
Start with the 1st one!

Awesome! Its a really cool book to be fair! But yeah... proxies may be the way to go. Some people are doing much nicer designs anyway 😅

Scenario 1 + fall of ruhadur seem fun
Thankyou for going through the book, got myself some werewolf’s and looking forward to the new edition
Would be keen to see one of the ranger scenarios. Also would like to see you use the new rangers LL.. maybe against the new host of the witch king LL?
@@Splentys Sounds like a good idea to me 😅 love rangers
Definitely need the acoustic treatment to fix the reverb echo in your new space.
Yeah ... there's a lot to do. But we either do it with slightly echoey audio while we work on the studio, or we don't do any vids 😅
That's very fair. moving from good to excellent takes time.

The last sighting of the king of Arnor scenario would be cool as fuck!

Even when the new edition comes out, you'll still be able to make use of scenarios etc from the older books. Plus they're just cool books 😊
Is this not Live? It said “discussion.” But I’m not seeing a chat?
No its not live. There was a premiere so there was a live chat 😊 but the discussion is referring to our discussion haha
I thought GW would release the profiles online ? Anybody know where I can find them ?
I think they will but only when the new edition comes out
So untill then you cant play them unless you have the book? That is stupid.
Thats always been the case though hasn't it? 😅

@@Lowlandrr They said they would release updated versions for free when the new edition drops. I think that’s totally fair 😊
