Leezie Lindsay

An old ballad telling the story of mistaken identity, or in this case, lack of recognition. I've always been a bit worried about Lindsay's intentions when she doesn't seem to be interested in the suitor until she finds out that he's a clan chief. Bits of the song came from Burns, other sections were added later according to the editor of the Kilmarnock Edition of Burns' works. Highland scenes with Rhona, the Forth Bridges Dance Band's singer, filling us in on the details of Lindsay and her would-be lover.
