- LUCKNOW PUBLIC SCHOOL (C.P. SINGH FOUNDATION) ORGANISED ANNUAL SPORTS-DAY “SPARDHA”
A two-day Sports Day 'Spardha' was organized on December 9 and December 10, 2022 in the South City branch of Lucknow Public School (CP Singh Foundation). The most anticipated event of the year commenced with the arrival of the highly distinguished chief guest, Mohammad Danish Mujtaba, the former captain of the Indian Hockey Team and Olympian hockey player. The School Manager, Mr. Lokesh Singh, inaugurated the sports competition by lighting the Torch.
The programme started with the March Past in which the students of all the four houses and the school band displayed their valour and pride followed by the oath taking ceremony, pledging to uphold the honour and the spirit of true sportsmanship. The audience were in visual treat as the junior most students of the primary branch tied the ceremony by singing melodious songs and left everyone awestruck.
In the competition, inter-house, inter-branch as well as Inter-School relay and sprint race took place. Along with the host branch, schools like APS Nehru Road, DPS Eldeco and G.D. Goenka participated with great zeal and fervour in the Inter-School Sports competitions. The next lined up events titled “Wall and Umbrella Drill” and “Rainbow Drill” were another compelling display of talents by the students which stressed upon the importance of sports and exercise and enlightened the audience with the merits of living a fit and healthy life. On this sports day, many interesting competitions were organized not only for the children but also for the parents which kept the audience charged. In the inter-school competitions, Lucknow Public School, South City bagged first position followed by the second position by APS, Nehru Road.
Medals and certificates were given away as prizes to felicitate the winners of “Spardha”. At last, the school director, Ms. Rashmi Pathak, concluded the meet by addressing everyone and telling them the need to imbibe qualities of discipline and sportsmanship spirit and also congratulated all the winning participants and wished them good luck and success.
