Just Keep Skating: Lot of wax, lot of speed, a lotta guts
Ben DeGros: Lean back and don't be a baby.
Tried a front blunt once in late 90s. Fully committed and ate shit. Never tried it again, lol
Bluntslides are the scariest looking slide/grind. Maybe someday I’ll be able to do one
What the heck are those two people with the ladder in the background doing??!? LOL!
Reaching to the heavens
I love watching the loonies in the back of skate vids. They always seem good people doing some weird shit
Hey my friend,I'm 45, I haven't skated in 30yrs. But just now getting back in. It was a lifesaver for me from 88 to 90 or 91. I was very good at street an getting into ramp. Then all of a sudden out of sight and mind. Very hard and broken home life. But skating was my life, something that took all the bad things away. It was skate or die for me n my pals. My board was my pillow, my board was my blanket, my board was my sword. It's there mentally but physically well I'd be better off walking out in front of traffic. But I'm processing. I have 4 kids that I've gotten into skating and it's such a good feeling. Ages 10, 10,9,&7. We have been kicked outta 2 places already and they can barely push off, excellent. They are already becoming sk8ers lol lol. I can't put into words how much of a passion skating was an is for me. It was something I was actually good at, loved and it washed everything bad away. Escape. Now I have a local indoor skate park opening up skating distance from my home. Insane it's very vintage looking also gives me chills. I can't wait to snuff up my board or body in this place. Thank you Ben for your humor, your motivation, your tips. Your a rad skater as we use to say. Just keep skating man.
I struggled with these for months and one day they clicked. My advice would be to practice stalling them on a curb straight on or at a 45 degree angle...smash that tail on the side (not the top) of the curb by leaning away from the curb and trying to lock in vertical
Can't do this at all. I will absorb your knowledge for wen I am ready. 🤙🏼🛹
Dude you taught me how to do drywall in my rentals, and now I’m getting back into skating after 5 years and you’re teaching me front blunts 😂 when it was a how to video and you popped up it took a whole 30 seconds to register that this is a skateboarding video. I’m happy to learn more from you though. Great channels!
Never tried these, but always thought the weight needed to be up on the ledge. Thinking about keeping the weight at this side of the border seems a legit tip, I may try one on the next sesh! Thanks Ben
waaaaaaaaax!!!!!!
That’s interesting. Personally I find back blunts way easier. You can see everything and it’s easier to stand up on them an hold a longer slide.i also find them abit safer as your body’s not crossed up so it’s easier to bail if needed.but we are all different and some tricks are easier/more comfortable for some people than others. Good advice from Ben. Well thought out and explained.
:) I really wish backside was easy for me. I slam on them way too much
@@justkeepskating8888 I’m having the same issue with bs nose blunts. Don’t stress fs blunts are way more stylish anyways.
@@justkeepskating8888 seeing your skating rails now you could also try them on there. Just think of popping over the rail to tailslide then work On lifting them.just a suggestion.
My question is why it that what Ben did is not backside? I don't understand the name of the trick, since you are backside ollieing to get into it. I'm assuming it's because you turn frontside to get out of it? I guess it followed the same conventions as board slides, which always seemed backwards to me.
@@idmhead0160 it’s frontside because as he’s approaching the obstacle it’s to his front. How I understand it is if he continues the rotation (as in a full 180) before landing into the grind. Like to 5050/nosegrind type thing then it would be backside because it’s a full backside 180 in. But because he’s only partially turned his front is still facing the obstacle
These trick tips are very useful, thanks.
You're welcome!
Thanks Ben! I wish I can blunt slide, one day, before I am getting too old. Thanks for helping:)
:D
Awesome mate been trying to learn this one hope this helps me
Thanx man ! Wish I land it before I get 75 years old 💙
As a front blunt kinda guy too. Im terrified of trying back blunts! But for some reason, back blunt was my very first blunt slide I learned. I can even back blunt a whole ledge back in the day. Not sure why it's now scaring the crap out of me.
Great tutorial keep the videos coming 👊🏼💯
Just found out Ben is on more than his own channel. Dope!
thanks i will try on small curbs!
Real good video, very clear explanation
Glad you liked it
Fresh video G thanks ❤️
My favorite rail trick
Looking mighty close to a shuv out on a few of those!
i was watching for the first 30 seconds, and i was like man, this guy looks sooooo much like the drywall guy....oh shit, it IS!
Thanks Ben 👌

Cab RDS graphic is so good!
Top tier feeling
Awesomeness 🔥🔥🔥
I believe in you degros
I will try the stall I. The cub and see if I can get that. The first step.
That’s a sick ledge / manny pad
It is
Thanks
Yo swag been turnt up lately
i found as a taller skater, the taller the ledge (to an extent) allowed me to balance in fs blunt much easier because of the counter weight between gravity pulling me down and using muscles ollie high/stay rigid but relaxed
no idea what im talking about. could never fs blunt a small ledge, only curbs, flat bars, 2ft~ ish ledge.. any smaller and my balance went crazy. but thats like an easier bs ts. which is better suited for ledges! i miss skating so much hah.
You could get a nollie noseblunt for sure!
Nice 100%!
OK GONZ BEANIE WE PEEP YOU BEN🙏🏾
Do a collab with Ben DeGros and Vancouver Carpenter!
Awesome
i was wondering today what's easier front blunts or back blunts
Depends on the person
for me i learned front 5-0s and front blunts within the same two days on the same curb (obviously doesn’t count as actually having the trick if i can’t pop them higher than that) & id heavily say frontside if you can front board
Hey I was wondering where you get your boards at or if anyone else can let me know?!!!
Where'd ya go??
How far do you need to be skate wise before it's advisable to start doing these badboys?
Bluntslide is still one of the tricks that im afraid of.
Can you upload a shuv tutorial or a slappy 50 50 tutorial? Thank you! You helped me make a lot of choices of what i want to buy for my setup on your other channel.
he hasnt uploaded in 5 months lmfao
@@oak7741 oh lol i still asked cuz hes active on his other channel
@@carlosserrano9059 what is his other channel?

@@carlosserrano9059 thanks
I want to do this truck so bad 😔 one day
When you did the blunt to fakie it looked like you were Gunna shuv out lol
I have the opposite problem. I get in and slip out! Landing it is the hardest part for me. I’m putting a lot of weight on my toe which is causing me to slip out, is it a shoulder problem for me? Or is it a weight problem? More on the ball of my foot instead of weight on my toes?
yes
currently learning bs blunts, they scary af
Yea boii
I think it’d be dope if you made a small segment with the video flipped so it looks like you’re skating goofy. I don’t think it’s necessary but it can help us goofy skaters visualize it better 🤷♂️
I just learned kickflip but I want to blunt 😂
This almost makes it seem easy. Is this easier or harder than back lips? Cuz I love both and am terrified of both
Harder
i’m gonna try it tomorrow i’ll let you know if i land one
You ever get it?
@@videoman9170 nah i rolled my ankle on that day but i can fs noseblunt now
@@geraldo669 killer!!!!! I just tried for the first time today and was able to lock in on a curb several times its a super cool feeling
Dude I literally came inside from trying this on my box lol
Lol bro what
Great work. With getting older i become more and more chicken.
Sounds like he’s from Saskatoon there eh
Are you The Vancouver Carpenter on UA-cam?
Can someone please explain to me why this is considered a "frontside" rather than a "backside?" I'm assuming it is because it is using the same conventions as a board slide, but, it seems backwards to me considering you are doing a backside ollie to get into it. I guess it goes by how you get out of the trick?
it‘s because the obstacle is in front of him, on his front-side.
Why do you always ride blanks????
🥰
Neues Album 3
Frontside? o_0 If you were goofy maybe
Definitely not a soft wheel trick
im way better at going to fakie when i do them on ledges
mau mati aku sama trick ini
Do you have a trick tip on how to grow some balls?
Backside blunts are ugly anyway😑
Hello Ben. Which shoe do you think is better Nike Blazer low GT or Cariuma Catiba Pro? 🇧🇷🇧🇷🛹🛹👟👟👟👟
How is this not bs? Your going backwards, sliding backwards and landing backwards, that's backside. Or if your switch and land in that poz, does it still count t as backside?
