For the non-Canadians and young Canadians… “MUCK” is a reference to “Much Music”, Canada’s MTV. The globe logo with “MUCH” was in the corner of the MV’s our childhood

Beautiful. Both are on Earth - it is what you make of it. The character in the song could either choose hell or heaven, and through love she chose heaven and had the baby and started a new life somewhere with nothing but hope in that love and that things will be good. Very good songwriting.

I hate them. I hate them for making such an endlessly re-playable, heart wrenching, impassioned pop shoegaze song that will not leave my head.
I grew up listening to groups like Catherine Wheel...and I'm glad there are now bands like Alvvays still making very excellent shoegaze/pop albums. My favorite album of 2022.

Yea for real, 4 songs into this record it’s easy to be totally taken with it, kind of amazing (re: authentic) genre-bending with a wise-tilt but also bleeding-edge-noise-nostalgia-futurism so whatever they’re doing they’re letting it all out and it is a real pleasure! 😘

They've put an MBV guitar sound on it but the song reminds me of the euphoria of some of mid 90s Oasis tunes like Stay Young or Round Our Way complete with Noel Gallagher-esque solo at the end.
