One of my favorite TLC videos to date, and there have been quite a lot. Thanks for this.

Hello, wondering if you would be opposed to cutting the Job 28 sequence as a separate video. Would really love to share it. My wife and I listened to this conversation on a car trip shortly after y’all put it out and I keep coming back to it.

@11:30 IMO it would be important to note that John is arguing the Stoic position, not his own. John has never identified as a Stoic afaik

I hope it didn’t seem we were saying that John was a Stoic. I understood that he was using Stoicism to make a point.

I has a friend who learned how to drive stick shift in highschool. The next week, he brought it up in every conversation, made fun of people who didn't know and made guesses to who wouldn't know how to drive stick shift. All while not knowing he was doing it.

The Wisdom Poem sequence is inspired, truly. I can’t disagree more with the George MacDonald part. “We are the clay, …his clay, but spiritual clay, live clay, with needs and desires--and rights,” “… and have we no claim on him? Nay, we have claims innumerable, infinite; and his one great claim on us is that we should claim our claims of him.” Rights before God? Innumerable claims? The Accuser would approve of such theology, but the God who speaks from the whirlwind would rebuke it. In Job 38 to 40:14, God proclaims that His creation is good and sufficient, He throws the accusations of the skeptics back to humanity. Pageau’s “standing with the right orientation to face of the future, whatever it may bring,” hits closer to the mark. It echoes “stand up straight with your shoulders back.”
