While yes i dont actually like filipino corny love songs (i dont even listen to it) also this is a love song of some sorts but the thing about love songs in Philippines is that it actually has cultural appreciation. you see about centuries ago the songs were mostly kundiman (basically love songs for wooing a girl, also called harana)
