    So far, I have the basic block in for 3/4, up to adding the facial features. For some reason, I get caught up on the nose, and after that, it goes south. Also, I can draw the eyes and mouth individually, but when it comes to filling the block in, idk things just seem to get messy.

    Not going to lie, I was drawing along with you, and didn't realise that you'd be going from one example to the next so hastily; and so... I'm going to keep going back and practicing. I'm not super confident (yet)

      @@MesserCreations Thank you so much! You've really made drawing a loomis head so accessible - I just felt a bit lost in this video, and I can tell you that first reference.. mine is a bit scary. If there is a part 2 (or continuation to finish off each reference) I'd love to see that video :)

    • @MesserCreations
      @MesserCreations  Рік тому +3

      Absolutely, hmm sorry you felt a bit lost. There are a lot of steps in drawing a portrait. I like your idea for a continuation video to these references. I will see what I can do as far as coming out with follow up vids. I would say if you still feel uncomfortable when drawing the first reference just draw it again, and again, and then again. I know it sounds kind of silly but if you do that you will build up muscle memory and you will develop your eye for the planes of the face. Don't get discouraged, drawing should be fun and enjoyable. Like a party that you don't want to leave :) Put on some 432 hertz music on repeat and draw that first reference until you can do it with ease. Try that and let me know how it goes. Take care Kimberley, never stop drawing.

    Thanks brotha i noticed ive been struggling with the jawlines and placing the features on the face. I even bought the loomis book on the head and hands because i know theyre my weak point. My overall goal is to be able to draw figure drawings with detailed heads so i can draw recognizable people in a scene.

    Braeden, I started drawing this portrait with you but as soon as you drew the oval I got lost! I can look at the photo and copy it quite well but for some reason the angles of the Loomis head just don’t wrap around my head. Been following you for a number of years!!!!!

    • @MesserCreations
      @MesserCreations  9 місяців тому

      You don't have to use the Loomis method if you don't want to. It is not for everyone, as some artists do not need the kind of structure that the Loomis method provides. Play to YOUR strengths and you will never go wrong :)
