Usually i feel like in the scenario you showed, its better to swing 16k and if they manage to counter somehow then you got 4 more attacks which they 100% wont counter. I would highly suggest to swing high and not wide on most cases since its extremely hard to counter out of a 15K+ attack
You are right, with a 16k first attack in this exact scenario its mathematically impossible for the enemy to survive the next 3 hits
100%! I just set it up this way with a random scenario to kinda show the decrease in size, would def be better to swing big, different at 1 life vs 0 haha

If they have no life, going wide is fine when you have 5 swings and all Don available. Not investing all your Don straight away means you can be more flexible with what you do in case something happens
Knowing what number you should swing with also changes depending on what you happen to know about their hand. For instance, say instead of ditching a 1k for the 5k swing, they end up ditching a 2k. That would heavily imply that your opponent does not have any 1k counter. That means you could probably get away with swinging another 5k to burn another 2k out of their hand for 0 don investment if you had an abundance of 5k bodies.
In the early/mid game (3-4 life, post taking the first hit), hitting for 6 for your test swing can also tell you a lot about what they have in their hand, namely if they have any 2k counter. If they have to ditch two 1k counter to protect your 6k swing, it is very likely that they do not have 2k counter in their hand (unless they are insane/intentionally trying to psych you out/intending on playing Gecko Moria to revive something from their hand). That means that hitting for a 7k swing will almost always result in them taking life to dig for a 2k. If you make them ditch more 1k counters by hitting 6s, they are less likely to take life and more likely to ditch cards out of their hand.
There is also a way to kind of estimate what's in their hand. It's more effective later on into the game, but it's checking your opponent's trash and recalling what you have bottomdecked. For an extreme example, if your opponent has 11 2k counters in their trash, most decks only run 12 2ks in their deck, so it's safe to assume that your opponent will have at maximum 1 2k counter left. You could also track how many bricks (0k counter) are left in their deck/hand by counting what else is in their trash. Say you are playing vs Lucci. He has sooo many 0k in his deck (Jack, Moria, Ice Age, Lucci). If they're not in his trash there's a decent chance that he could have a surplus of events and 0k characters backed up in his hand. I'd probably swing 7s until he's taking life. And if he starts taking life at 3 card hand size, I just pretend he has 1 card in his hand for my other swings until he has no more life.

Is it not always to just go 3 5ks, so 3 cards gone and 5 left. Then 3 Don on Weevil for 9k for 3 cards, now 2 left and then 12k with Boa and is a guaranteed win.
Thats also a path to take that all results in the same outcome I think just different ways to go about it just doing 7s for the purpose of the concept
15k weevil > 5k > 5k > 5k > 7k boa
