DWP already have access to our bank accounts they pay into our accounts. So what gives them the right to check how people are using their money and if they are saving some of their pension to pay for the gas and electricity that’s going up again in January. Well if my bank allows my account to be gone over I will be taking legal action for them allowing an invasion of my privacy. My agreement is with the bank not with Keir Stammer and the Labour government and their department of DWP.

If banks disclose any information to a third party, DWP or anyone else, they are breaking Date protection. They have to have a warrant to get into a bank to disclose your account information. The government has know your bank balance for years. I worked in a bank retired now. Each year, banks have to inform the government of any interest earned . By knowing this and the interest rate its easy for them to work out how much money You've held in your account.

I worked in a bank for 26years . If you earn interest on your bank account the banks have to declare the amount of interest you have received to the government . So if they know the amount of interest you earned, and they also know the interest rate. They can easily work out your balance. The government have know how much you have in the bank for years. This is the reason I have had my money in a non interest bearing account.
In my time in the bank (nearly 20 years) it was interest over a certain amount that was declared. So not every account with small interest credited in November, as it was, was not reported. Even on Equifax and similar would show your financial holdings.

Have been told that if you have savings they can stop money from your state pension as they say you do not need it. Apparently there was a pension on tv where they have stopped his pension as he took out a finance agreement on a carc3 years ago and they said if he could afford to run a car he didnt need benefits. State pension benefit! Never checked if he still had car.
I hope the DWP are aware that it is easier to get a tradesman in for repairs if you draw money out from the bank for his remuneration. The reason for this is that he then knows he's going to get paid, no bouncing cheques or insufficient money in a customer's account. It's hard enough to get someone to do work on your house to begin with. Sensible people obviously. only use tradesmen who are recommended as reliable when doing this and don't pay upfront before the repairs are done. These checks appear rather over suspicious to many pensioners who are not fiddling the benefits system and who save as they can put as much as they can put aside, for funeral costs and other likely emergency payments. We can only see what the future will bring with these checks, let us presume they will be fair as promised.
It's all about means testing the pensioner you have worked all your lives to save for. Tell your kids don't bother with a pension they will only be punished. Tell them to live for today enjoy there money now.

Is it a computer that will decide? How many office workers is this going to take to manage, sounds like a lot of work. Just now it can take an hour of longer to get through to the DWP and somtimes you get through to the wrong person and then need to start again, it is so demoralising. Are they going to make us do it all on the computer. Oh dear.

The government are not doing us any favours we are receiving what we paid in for years from the age of fifteen to sixty years of age . This has been badly handled by government sources now it’s our fault the government over spends over pays undeserving sources ,! We now are expected to grovel pay for their overspending mishaps.
We should go to the courts of human rights and try to et it stopped. Use the court against Labour. Poking their noses into Big Brother style checks.

Have been told that if you have savings they can stop money from your state pension as they say you do not need it. Apparently there was a pension on tv where they have stopped his pension as he took out a finance agreement on a carc3 years ago and they said if he could afford to run a car he didnt need benefits. State pension benefit! Never checked if he still had car.
if This Government are reducing my state pension I will want back 50 years of the Tax and Insurance back that I paid into the system
I am guessing we will have to give permission. So, this is probably related to people applying for benefits, e.g. cold weather payments.

Draw your monthly pensions out the bank in cash every month even though you do not need it .
I hope the DWP are aware that it is easier to get a tradesman in for repairs if you draw money out from the bank for his remuneration. The reason for this is that he then knows he's going to get paid, no bouncing cheques or insufficient money in a customer's account. It's hard enough to get someone to do work on your house to begin with. Sensible people obviously. only use tradesmen who are recommended as reliable when doing this and don't pay upfront before the repairs are done. These checks appear rather over suspicious to many pensioners who are not fiddling the benefits system and who save as they can put as much as they can put aside, for funeral costs and other likely emergency payments. We can only see what the future will bring with these checks, let us presume they will be fair as promised.
Surely if you are just on a Gov pension having paid in your N.I. all your working life, then surely there is nothing to worry about!
It's all about means testing the pensioner you have worked all your lives to save for. Tell your kids don't bother with a pension they will only be punished. Tell them to live for today enjoy there money now.

I was always advised to save for my old age because the state pension wouldn't be enough when I retired , are we supposed to contribute to those that have never paid into the system for their pensions ?
