We started Disco Elysium on stream. This game is quite different in many ways - but it's glorious! It's a bit slow at times, as it's mostly dialogue, but the voice acting and the conversations are hilarious and definitely worth to stick with.

Don't be afraid of picking options that seem out there or unrelated : sometimes they'll actually progress your quest, or give you cool information or rewards
You don't have to reload. The game is more fun when failing. You don't get locked out.
I know. But I got Kara and Alice killed in my first run already. No need to see that again.
I wanted to see something new, see what happens when they live.
@@LIZZgame Haha. Wrong game. Detroit is cool though, I'm gonna check your playthrough soon. I was meaning the reload in disco, where you tried to hold the vomit in at the body. Just letting you know that you won't lose out on fun by not reloading a failed roll. Really enjoying your playthrough so far.

Everything about this game is an expression of pain and beauty. Loving the playthrough.
21:18 You can hold your points and level up in a conversation if some check is too difficult, tho it would rob you out of passive checks, so yeah, there are always not enough points
With you reading the non-voiced parts we get a pretty good audio-book! 😂

on the fast-track to boring cop town.
I gotta say, i consider this game one of the best steampunk point & click that i've played in my entire life, and i've been playing them since the 90s. Only "thing" i could argue is that you have to be in certain mood to play it. I found at times that it made me rethink A LOT of things and shook my ground quite a bit, while watching gorgeous views of a post-war steampunk town. It felt both "cathartic" and "gamey" at the same time.
I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as i did Lizz.
so far, I love it! The humor is amazing!
For me, that mood is 5 drinks deep. I like to get in character.
Haven't played this game since it came out, I really should go for another playthrough. Some unsolicited advice: much of the fun in this game arises from taking a position on something and sticking with it. You mainly get XP in dialogue, by exhausting topics or following up on inconsistencies. Whenever a dialogue option pops up (usually the first) that starts with something like "wait, ..." or something to this effect, you can use it without moving on with dialogue, providing background. Asking the right questions or asking enough of them cumulatively will often improve your chances in checks.
I finished the game a bit ago and I used almost all dialogue options in the game whenever I talked to someone. 👍

yep. Good cop, no drugs, no alcohol, almost no cigs. I got a good ending for this behaviour.
