One of the sharpest factory edges in the game. I was shocked at how easily it cut through paper---effortless. The only other knife that cut as easily was my Sandrink Torino w a tugnsten carbide blade.
The Swayback is an interesting knife since a lot of Spyderco fans who have it say it’s underrated but not a lot of people in general have it (if that makes sense). I think since it’s been announced that it will be discontinued next year a lot people got it for ~$200 and at that price I’d say it’s definitely worth it. I think the biggest complaint is that you can’t Spydie flick it if you have larger hands but luckily I don’t 😂.
I love XHP. The way Spyderco treats it really suits my needs. I like to both have a 240 grit edge for cutting certain materials : XHP does that well. I like to have a really high polish edge (5/6k grit) for some other things : XHP does that well without loosing much bite. Impressive for a steel that isn't 10+ % vanadium or tungsten or cobalt or smth like that ^^
Man your video talked me into getting one this is the closest im going to get to a traditional slipjoint just not a fan of knives with no locks but this has the aesthetic of one best of both worlds. also thought about maybe trying to convert to a front flipper but idk.
Bought the Swayback instead of CF lava scales for my voodoo? Wish i could of bought both but I'd rather have the Swayback in my collection. Ti scales, hollow grind, and being discontinued is definitely a must! 🔥
Man I considered that you are very big fan of Spyderco, that's wonderful.I decide this because you own, present and make cut test with many Spyderco models. If it's not a secret how many do you have?
I spent 4 hours in a knife store with thousands of knives.. i checked out the top shelf brands and among all of if the hideous tactical plasticy Battlestar Galactica lookin knives.. this thing just POPPED. The matte titanium with the polished stainless steel.. OOF!!If you've out grown tacky neon sneakers, sports jerseys and track pants.. this knife is for the denim, waxed cotton, linen, leather, wood and steel, classic car driving fellas... a grown mans knife. 19th century English design.. lots of cool history with the wharncliff. Reverse grip, ring finger deployment is as classy as it gets.. she looks like a quality straight razor.. Real gentlemanly. If you're on the fence, go pick one up and feel the quality. You will learn to flick and deploy this thing like it's your job... Like the boss shepherds before you. GREEN EGGS & HAM, Sam I Am... GREEN EGGS & HAM 😍
@@TeeFetch oh okay! Well I’ve only tried two JWK, but overall I gotta choose LCB because it’s a way better bang for your buck. Both are really good though! It has a lot to do with your taste in design too
@@doodysdaggersI didn’t yet. As I was mulling it over, I got a notification from Hinderer and jumped on a Textured Ti scale. I don’t even have a knife to put it on yet! So now, trying to justify spending two or three hundred more dollars…
That’s a really nice blade. My grail knife is a Spyderco Techno 2 that’s a bad blade my opinion. Another great video very entertaining very informative very fun as always Stay safe have a great day! #WE🫶🏽🐕🦺FLOKI
I was definitely impressed with the swayback and glad it wasn’t instantly sold out with the price drop when it discontinued.

I just ordered mine. I’m a bit iffy on the thumbhole access but I’m also curious on the knife myself as I’ve been eyeing on it for a while.
I just bought one today! I also love the Viper Key.
I've had my eye on this blade for a while, almost purchased it quite a few times, not sure what keeps holding me back?
I dunno either! I say get it before they’re gone

Yeah exactly! I think for $200 it’s a fantastic purchase
I wanna scoop this before they are all gone. I’ve heard of you take off that clip it really shines. I’d love to get a slip made for one.
Let’s make it happen! 😁
@@doodysdaggers I’m seriously considering it. Soon as I get my previous Sezzle paid off…

Yes definitely! I’m really loving it so far!
I almost picked one of these up a couple of weeks ago. I might need to think about it again.
The swayback is amazing! If you ever get a Drunken you will fall in love!!!
Someday!
Just got my APurvis pocket clip so I can now EDC my Drunken, (that standard clip it SHITHOUSE…)

Right on nice! You’ll like it.
Converting to a front flipper, interesting. It might be possible if you ground away some scale material
@@doodysdaggers yea thats what i was thinking but idk if i want to ruin that little pinch grip contour it has
No need to enlarge access hole, you will be a expert in no time, and your right it won't look right, luv mine,

👍🏼
