- The moment something bad happens to us, we unnecessarily start feeling sorrowful. But through this humorous incident, which occurs in the life of one of Sri Aurobindo's dear disciples, we learn that some good usually comes out of the worst of situations. However we cannot immediately see this good, because it takes time to emerge. Therefore in bad times, it is better to remain calm, unperturbed and patient.

Is it fine to remain unmarried celibate despite living in world?Are there only two option, either to be a monk or be married?
I cannot live a monastic life as I am not yet prepared for it but I do not want to get married and trapped in miseries and responsibilities of married life too.
Someone suggested me to read "Case of unmarried" in Spiritual practice by Swami Ashokananda.
There I got an answer that we can remain unmarried and follow strict celibacy.

May I know why Sri Aurobindo did not let Amrita know that he is doing this for cancelling his marriage? I mean, why was a mystery maintained around that? Was there a purpose?
sometimes the disciple is not ready to hear everything and also sometimes there are habits in the disciple that guru wants to get rid off. Amrita da was v much attached to external ritualistic observations and maybe sri aurobindo wanted him to overcome this attachment to prepare for greater spiritual realizations.
