Another amazing video ❤️❤️ there’s a kid called inventory repair that uses repair kits and repairs stuff in your inventory. It could be super useful 🤷♂️
Use Invetory repair mod. it doesnt cheat anything but it uses the repairpacks in your inventory to repair turrets and stuff you pick up so they stack properly.
Love this series! BTW there is a mod that repairs damaged items in your inventory automatically with repair packs, its called Inventory Repair. It sure saves my sanity while turret creeping.
Mining Productivity is worth it here. I suggest getting red mods into everything, even the miners. Even though that would slow down mining and make it a lot more expensive in terms of power, but you need the resources.
I'd forgotten how early you can get low-tier modules. He needs advanced circuits for them, though, which requires oil, which requires a lot of stuff he hasn't started yet. (And he'll need a _lot_ of oil if he wants to put productivity modules in a meaningful fraction of his machines...)
@@timothymcleanIf you have 100x the machines to feed 100x the science to 100x the labs you usually do, I think those factors should be relatively worth the same as in regular Factorio, no? Just now ore patches deplete so much faster that making them last longer through prod mods is worth relatively a lot more, since building new mining outposts will be the main activity for Ryan about 50 hours from now.
I'd like to suggest some mods to you that will make your life much easier from the reoccurring problems you will find coming up, the first one is "Where is Mybody", which will show you a line pointing to your body, the next one is "Inventory repair", which will make cleaning up those biter fights much easier, as long as you have repair packs in your inventory all damaged items in your inventory will be repaired, last but not least id like to suggest something that will make making mining patches MUCH faster, its called "Mining patch planner" which will give you a tool that allows you to highlight an ore patch and it will place ghosts of all the belts, miners and power poles and all you need to is place them and connect all the outputs, making one of the most tedious things in the game slightly easier, not to mention that the way the miners are placed is highly configurable, also works with fluids inputs on miners. Hope this list helps.
I'm sure it's very easy to do 3 belts labs, as you know, with underground belts you can place red incerters on belts line. The outer line is for one line of space juice and beacons. Yes I know I can chain labs with inserters, and I don't care, I will place them like assemblers.
To help with finding your corpse, if you change your colour it also changes your corpses colour so if you change it to something high contrast like magenta 255 0 255 it stands out much easier
Wow this really shows me that instead of my first multiplayer game being death world, this should be... Like at least one person clears biters while other focuses on expansion... Though doesn't such scale design mean that you have to tear it down once you get game changers like electric furnaces and medium poles? Oh also I wonder how much of /evolution comes from destroying bases, pollution and procrastinating
I wonder if Factorio could be improved by patching the combat system, primarily targeting spam on offense. In the current state of the game, you can fundamentally erase both attack and defense in PvE by bringing a pile of fish and sentries everywhere, after death you can resume work immediately after just a short walk.
Hey, what about a mod to help with the pollution issue? Maybe one with air filters or a forestry mod? I don't know if they exist, but it passed by my thoughts because I've recently finished a Krastorio playthrough which has those two things. Also i'd advise to switch to assemblers tier 2 as soon as possible because they produce half as much pollution as assemblers 1
@@ripecontextit seems like pollution is going to be a huge problem, you probably need to beeline efficiency modules as soon as you get blue science, if you don't end up using a modded solution
'Land covered by biters is good for neither purpose' Disagree. Biters are some of the best pollution absorption there is. Nests on islands are completely free pollution of course, but as Michael Hendriks demonstrated in his indestructible nests series, a completely walled in nest can no longer spawn biters, either, if you don't mind the cheese, and is similarly a free air filter. And, even if you don't, just having biters attacking from a known and defended location is much easier to deal with than biters attacking from anywhere else.
The starting output is lower, but the mine will remain at peak output for longer since miners take fewer resources from shared pools, depleting the outside miners more slowly. It's basically the same as just under-building belts to pull ores out, in a way, but some people find this less fiddly to balance.
10% luck

Eminem been real quite since this dropped.
I'll be sure to remember the name

The arrow animation at 6:50 was a nice touch!
Top tip, open chat and click on the death message location, it will bring up a marker on map and also will actually visually mark it so it stands out
"I'd rather eat my own hands than use them to ___" is a POWERFUL phrase, one that I want to use now.
An example I thought of: “I’d rather eat my own hands than use them to type something so stupid.”

Your video quality has improved in this series. Kudos
The kind of video that's so nice to watch i can put it on multiple times. Can't wait for more!
I indeed love the zoom outs where we get to see the stupendous scale

Well done, both on the factory, and the video.
Enjoying the pure masochism of this run, subbed and eagerly waiting the next parts :)

Regarding the grenade build: you could have switched the coal and the grenade belt. Same size and no need for inserter shenanigans
Pro tip you can hold left and right click with a repair kit in hand and it’ll repair the turret and then pick it up after
I already liked Factorio a lot, but this series is tempting me to put even more time into it...
mmmmmm beeg builts. i cannot wait to see how trains change everything
I thought I was having a bad time with my trainworld marathon semi-deathworld run
This is a bucket ( of science )
Dear god.
There is more.
would be cool to add the statsGUI mod so we can see the "research finished in 52 years" so we understand your pain
This run is crazy! I love it

Ryan just wondering : at the moment you use red ammo, which tech level for bullet damage did you have? Just the first (red sc) or also second?
aw hell yea i was the 777th like. today must be my lucky day. another great episode of this series, thanks a lot

That feels a bit too cheaty for me, it’s out of the realm of making it less frustrating and into the realm of just making it plain easier.

Gonk!
Whats the reasoning for your mining outpost design? I don't think I've seen people do it that way, curious if there's any benefit to it?

heyy, i'd love to support you via ko-fi, however i don't have a credit card? is there an option on ko-fi to donate via Paypal or similar?
I’m not entirely sure, because there is an option to pay via PayPal but I would have to set up an account so I’ll have a look later.
If you're still interested in supporting me, I've set it up so you can use Paypal. If you chose to do so, thank you in advance!

so whats the expectation? do you think its doable in under 100 hours?
I hope so, I expect that once I transition to the train base it’s only a matter of time
Am I the only one wondering why he won't use steel furnaces to reduce coal consumptionand pollution ?
but why do you leave those gaps in mining columns if land comes at a premium?
When you’re operating on the scale of hundreds of chunks, like a chunks worth of tiles don’t matter too much.
